No Joe dont want middleweights. He wants light heavyweight champs who are proven like Tarver or Hopkins who beat Tarver. Again Joe isnt ducking Kessler but just is more interested in boxing other people who have better pedigrees and have beaten better people.

I hate to use the word ducking but I think that Cal isn't going out of his way to pursue the fight. This would be the biggest matchup at Super Middle since Toney-Jones. Cal-Kessler is for supremacy in the division & contrary to what some of Cal's fans think this fight HAS to happen. Kessler isn't some one hit wonder fighter that beat a fighter to gain a belt. He's a legitimate champ & a serious threat to Cal. Look at his last 5 fights & that speaks for itself that he's legit & wants see who the real champ is. This fight NEEDS to happen this year.

The difference is Kessler is calling out Calzaghe while still continuing to face top 5 super middleweights. Calzaghe doesn't choose to fight Kessler and settles for undeserving challengers like Bika and now Manfredo. Talk about Kessler's opposition all you want, the fact is Calzaghe has never faced 5 top 5 super middles in a row in his entire career while Kessler is currently on such a streak...
