If you are so unbiased, then why dont you recognise that for the majority of his career Hatton has not been known as a 'hugging' fighter?

He could even retire right now to live a happy life doing something else, that is his right as well.
Yeah well this is the problem. People cant see things this way. Take Calzaghe for example, he could probably do with moving up a weight class to get the big fights, but then people are just bagging him for not unifying his own weight class, despite the higher guys being much more credible and proven fighters. I honestly dont think that the majority of this forum will ever give British fighters as much respect as they deserve. Calzaghe could defeat Taylor, Hopkins, Wright and Tarver and they still wont consider him to be P4P number 1, or probably 2 or 3. Similarly Hatton could take on and defeat PBF (current P4P number 1) and they'd still find a way to claim that Cotto was better, or worse still...continue to rank PBF higher up the P4P list than Hatton.

I love coming on here and constantly reading threads slagging Hatton and Mayweather. It's great.

Yeah, in the past he wasn't. In the present, he is the second coming of John Ruiz. I know John Ruiz started hugging because Tua knocked him the **** out and he was scared to leave himself open. Why did Hatton start hugging? Did he start enjoying the feel of a man's skin all of a sudden? I just don't see any reason for him to change to such an atrocious style. It is the very reason so many Americans hate him since only a few of us had seen him prior to the Tsyzu fight...

Hatton has a bad style. Even after KD Collazo in the 1st round, he already started his hugging. It's just not aesthetically pleasing.
Read it again, I am not offering excuses only alternative reasons as to why his performances have been off, I have also criticised him and his choices of fights and methods.

I am not biased, my user name is simply that a user name, unlike many on here I will say it as I see it and do not 'hate' or 'nuthug' purely for the sake of it, I am purely a boxing fan.

The problem is that fighters are usually recognized only by their last fight. Ali was great boxer but its not like he can get in the ring and outbox everyone today. Ricky Hatton may have been an awesome body ****er but in his last fights hes had a rather boring style.
