Notice nobody talks about Mosley clinching in the collazo fight!! Just a bunch of haters who pick up on any flaw they can find.

How good is he? We are going to find out and the reason we are going to find out is because Hatton himself made the decision to come and fight the best. Everyone needs to realize he could have racked up 20 title defenses like Hopkins, Hill, Calzaghe or Jones fighting a bunch of mandatory ******* in Manchester but he opted out of that crusie control path.

Boxing fans everywhere owe Ricky a debt of gratitude for showing us what all fighters should be about (HE DID NOT HAVE TO COME OVER HERE), in that respect who gives a **** how good he is.

          I appreciate you Ricky!

The biggest money fights have usually, if not always, taken place in America.

You fight where the money is.

There is little point for an "American" Champion to go overseas if he can make huge amounts of money here. If there was a bigger purse overseas then yes, the fighter should go there. Just look at Chris Byrd, he was Champion and went overseas to fight Wlad. Why? because that is where the money is.

It would make no sense for say someone like Oscar Delahoya to go overseas.

If Germany was Mecca of boxing, that is where I would say everybody should fight. On that note, I like when Wlad fights in Germany, it is a pretty good setup over there.

I thought America was really slipping off in America, but the truth is, it is about the fighters finding a way to market themselves better.

Nobody is bringing in media and money like Oscar, and where is he fighting, "America"

Don't put Hatton in the same sentence as Roy Jones Jr.

I would expect a 35 year old fighter to clinch more than someone in his 20's, wouldn't you?

Shane was also throwing a lot more punches in combination at this stage of his career than Hatton did in his fight with Collazo.

Shane's fight was better, and he did better.

I would have liked to seen Hatton fight Shane instead of him fighting Castillo. If Hatton wants older worn out fighters, Shane would have been the better choice for the fans since he is a bigger name, and would be very competitive (even at this stage of his career), than Castillo will be.

That said, it's tough enough being a fighter so what Hatton is doing is still appreciated by me. Bad rep for "Hugging" is not good, but he is still winning, and I wouldn't put his fights up there as "Boring" like John Ruiz.

His biggest win is vs. Tszyu, and that is an overrated accomplishment because of when he fought Tszyu. However, somebody had to knock Tszyu off the mountain and he did it.

When it comes to talking about Floyd, Rick needs to keep silent because talk of a fight now is getting old.

Are you suggesting that boxing should only be about money? Hatton could make a VERY profitable life for himself by staying in America, fighting at the MEN Arena in Manchester and selling out 25,000 tickets every fight no matter who he is facing. Do you then believe that it is fair game if, as a world champion, he doesnt bother going anywhere else in the world and just sticks where he is as long as he's making good money?

The funny thing is that Hatton is supposed to be an exciting fighter. He is as dreadful to watch as it gets. I really hope Hatton-Castillo isn't a stinker, but it probably will be...

Hatton would have a much easier life by fighting under Warren against mediocre opposition in his home town and would thus have more earnings potential as he makes seven fugures for every fight. Hatton made the choice to take a risk and go to the US and make some real money and fight some real opponents. The opponents so far have been rather less than stellar , but we're talking about two fights (I don't count Maussa who had just beaten a longtime elite fighter in Vivian Harris and held an opportunity for Hatton to unify the division) out of a 42 fight career. Hatton had his shot at a top P4Per and took it with both hands, now he's looking tos tep it up again. Castillo is a good start. The thing is he will now pretty much have to move up in weight once he gets past Castillo and maybe Witter (to get that WBC belt he is missing) and he'll probably fight a tune-up before hand like everyone else does (given his trouble at the new weight last time) for whic h he will be universally panned. But I'm hoping he will have another five to seven fights and come out looking good.

I $incerely doubt that you'll give the fight a chance. I'd say it is much more likely that you'll call it a stinker regardless of what anyone else says...or you'll just not comment on it and wait until the next time he does something that you dont agree with and then come back with a vengeance.
