No matter who he beats he won't impress some people. No matter how poorly he fights he won't disappoint some people. He lived up to his potential against Kostya Tszyu and I hope to see him do so again. His last two fights have been fairly uninspiring though his fight against Maussa was impressive enough.
He's a tough guy, with a tough style. He's probadly a little overrated by some british fans, and probadly a little underrated by some american fans. His last few fights have been a little too "John Ruizish" for my liking though.
He is, but we american fans don't underrate him, we've just seen some lackluster performances thus far, we've never seen his great performances against questionable opponents in his home town, his best well known performance was against Tzu, & we haven't seen anything like that since. I was impressed by his skills in the first few rounds against Urango, but his non-stop clinching didn't show us much of what he can do in the championship rounds.

The kid came from a cozy home in Manchester where he could sell out an arena fighting Joe Blow and came to America.
He has done what countless champs of the past have flat out refused to do and he has my respect for that.
How good is he? We are going to find out and the reason we are going to find out is because Hatton himself made the decision to come and fight the best. Everyone needs to realize he could have racked up 20 title defenses like Hopkins, Hill, Calzaghe or Jones fighting a bunch of mandatory ******* in Manchester but he opted out of that crusie control path.
Boxing fans everywhere owe Ricky a debt of gratitude for showing us what all fighters should be about (HE DID NOT HAVE TO COME OVER HERE), in that respect who gives a **** how good he is.
The only two fights I've seen of Hatton are the ones against Collazo and Urango and both were pretty boring because of Hatton's constant clinching. I watched him because all the HBO guys were saying how he is all action all the time. He was coming forward the whole fight, but the clinching was just too much. I hope Castillo beats him so then maybe HBO will jump off his bandwagon and stop showing he's fights.
