A fight with Travis Simms isn't a bad idea.Simms would probably have as good of a chance as anybody at 160.

we'll see if this fight happens. It's too much of a size difference. Forget the 4 inches in height and the weight, Taylor is a bigger man, bigger puncher. Remember, this is the Cory Spinks who lost to Zab Judah.

I just see this as being a size mismatch. Could you imagine if instead of Spinks, Judah's name was thrown in. The size difference is too much.

Taylor should take a tuneup and wait for Miranda, Pavlik, etc.

I don't think abraham really wants to fight jermain, he'll end up as a typical european champ that fights meaningless mandatories for the rest of his career like DM did. I thought that DM would be a big star after his win over virgil hill, but nope he chose to follow the 'no risks' route and turn his career into fighting mandatories until he got beat by one.

I like Spinks more then most anyone on here but he hasnt even shown to be a true 154 pounder yet. He may still be a WW trying to fight at 160. I dont like it at all. ****, Id rather him fight Soliman or someone

taylor fighting another 154lb-er is damaging his credibility. he was supposed to be the next middleweight king and all he's taking on are guys that moved up in weight to fight at 154 coming up from welterweight. thats boxing but the thing is there are better matches for him in his own weight class.

what makes it worse is how they're shopping around in the lower weight class like it's not a big deal, like there is no shame in it. if they played it out like "well in the short time this is the only guy we could find to fight on that date" i could see that as ok the first deal went sour and this is what we get, cool lets a better fight next time. but no team taylor is announcing that they're shopping in the lower weight class, with no damn shame. and i think that is a shame and totally makes taylor look weak as ****, he was nothing really special, he got two gifts over hopkins and has done nothing but declined since. next thing you know he is going to be looking to fight guys with losing records or something absurd like that..............................shame on him, hbo, and his whole team. **** like this is just watering down the sport, amongst other things.

I wouldnt be so quick to judge taylor, deuce.

Its a step up from Mora as far as Im concerned.Id at least consider Taylor-Spinks an interesting stylistic matchup.

besides, when the precedent of middleweights fighting great past-welters has been set, you should take up issue with the likes of b-hop first if youre concerned about fighters/promoters watering down the sport.

yeah you're right about the step up with spinks, but as far as the b-hop thing i will retract what i said about taylor in that regard if he stays at middleweight his whole career, or at least as long as b-hop did. thing is taylor was/is supposed to be a super star this and that, but hopkins was schrouded in obscurity the majority of his career, his dispute with don king and going to the supreme court hearings in defense for boxers led to him not getting any tv coverage or any media attention, taylor is the exact opposite all they're trying to do is hype him, hype him, hype him, so with that being said i think it's fair to not really compare hopkins because no one expected **** from him other than to lose to Trinidad which he dominated that fight. people wanted hopkins to move up but hopkins set a goal for himself and went out and got it or got close anyway, either way taylor i think as do many others should be looking into fighting some other available middlewieghts, i know they got to keep the tv date, but i'm sure miranda or someone else would be down to fight taylor on short notice and i think taylor should take that kind of fight too. instead of openly shopping in a lower weight class, guys went up to fight hopkins i don't recall hopkins shopping for smaller fish, one thing hopkins did do and said a long time before, those guys dropping 25-35 pounds to fight at lightweight this and that, they're going to be moving up to middleweight and as he said he'll be there to greet them. and he did but no shopping bro.
