At this time, it only cuts one way. Hatton does not belong at 140 him and everyone knows it. If you don't know that I wouldn't call you an idiot but an ignorant ****. After Castillo there's no other name at 140 for him. I know he had a rough time his first time out as a WW, that doens't mean he should run away from better competition and try to lure a natural WW back to Jr WW where he knows the other guy cant make that weight comfortably. As soon as Cotto announce he was going to WW, Hatton relinquished his title to go back to 140? A guy who walks around at 185 pounds? GTFOH with that ****!!!

Are you serious? You seriously think that Hatton dropped back to the weight at which he is the man to avoid Miguel Cotto? That's the most bizarre reasoning yet!

No, most bizarre reasoning is that he missed out on bigger pay days for going back to 140.

I'm not sure why the logic of refusing to move down a weight is some how more manly than refusing to move up a weight. Especially where the reasons for both are because it is not advantageous for the boxer.

For a guy who walks around at 185 its not. Not only that, but lets be honest, who else is at his level at 140 besides Castillo? Hatton needs to cut the crap, move up to 47 and fight again the way he used to. Forget about the clinching, he was a lot better throwing over 100 punches per round as he used to do.

I thought that Hatton cleaning up at 140 (meaning Castillo and Witter) before fighting a couple of times at 147 against Mayweather and Cotto. There's a couple of factors in Hatton moving back down, chief among them is that he was never intending to make a permanent move to 147. Second among them is that he perhaps felt he wasn't ready for the permanent move. Third is that Hatton's best weight is 140 lbs. If he can compete and retain the advantages then why not?

That's my point, advantages in beating who??? He's on a different level than those guys, he has over 40 fights and is ranked in top 10 p4p, taking 147 fights with proper training and sparring, he can do some damage. But him trying to lure Cotto to come down to 140 is BS.

I'm not sure he is trying to lure Cotto to 140 lbs though. The only indication I have heard to suggest that this is Hatton's goal comes from Hatton's detractors.

The fight was offered at 140 not 147 where Cotto is too weak. Why not try to take his WBA belt back now that Cotto got rid of his mandatory and is in position to fight anyone? Cotto-Hatton at 147 in MSG!!!! Like the sound of that!!!
