As much as i think Hamed could be a twat, i still find it hard to believe. This is one of those days I wish I had made a hard copy of the article I read. But the information came from one of his own people. Else I wouldn't be rambling about it. It was a little su****ious that he would be praising Allah that night when i don't ever recall him doing that before a major title fight.
Im sure he did his ALLAH ALLAH crap before the Barrera fight.Comment

He never picked up teh microphone just before the fight was about to start and pray to God. I think you got the wrong fighter and it's not even in the same category.Comment

If that were true, then yes, it would make him a ****.
Everyone says ****** things.
But Frazier and Hamed cant be compared anyway. Frazier took his beatings and kept fighting. Hamed obviously did not.
Frazier never purposefully humiliated and mocked his outclassed opponents to make himself look good in front of their friends and family.Comment

Having not seen the Barerra vs Hamed fight for a looong time, I decided to revisit it because of this thread.
I remember, when I watched it the first time, I'd become sick of Naz and was glad that he seemed to finally be getting his comeuppance and so I recalled a fight where he took a severe beating and was shown to look like he couldnt stand in the ring.
Since then I've learned a lot about Naz and I have the benefit of hindsight so as to be able to view the fight much more objectively. I think that George Foreman had it closest to being right. Naz had become so enchanted by his power and his ability to score the knock out punch that not only was he not training, not only was he not throwing combinations, he wasnt even bothered to throw the right power shots. He found that he couldnt get through Barerra's defences with his wild powershots and he didnt really try anything else. Thats not the Naz that I remember from other fights, he was the aggressor all fight and he was a different fighter (not just because of the step-up in quality), he wasnt even trying to fight his own game.
Barerra however was fantastic, so patient and focused with an incredibly tight defence and great counter punching. He won a decisive victory and was worth it. However this rubbish some of you guys seem to remember (myself included) of him destroying Naseem are dilusional. Naz never seemed in particularly much trouble and was absolutely still in the fight for the first half, it only started slipping away from him in the second half when he found himself unable to do anything about it. He was never a 'beaten man', was always lively and showy and always looking for the knock out punch. Barerra deserves credit for the win, Naz deserves criticism for allowing himself to decline so much for such a big fight. But he does not deserve any criticism for losing to Barerra, nor for 'getting his ass whooped the first time he stepped up to a real challenge', cos that simply did not happen.Comment

Was the Kevin Kelley fight the one with all the knock downs? If so if Kelley wouldn't of got over confident and had his guard up I think he could have won. I'm not too familiar with Kelley isn't this a guy who got KO'd by Bobby Pacquiao? but he still gave Nas trouble. Then Barrera just owned the guy. I haven't seen too many of his fights but from what I have seen I am not impressed. From what I hear though is that he dodged everyone he thought could beat him only fought cab drivers and only took the fight with Barrera because he was going to get stripped of his belts.Comment

It seemed by the time Hamed fought Barrera he wasnt fighting instinctively like he did in earlier fights. He was thinking too much it seemed. When he fought Paul Robinson the punching seemed so natural and they landed where he wanted them to.
He didnt try rectify what he didnt do against barrera and this dissapoints me. He didnt act like a true champ should do.Comment

It seems to me that all the opinions you're stating there are someone elses.
Why instead of regurgitating someone else's opinions, dont you go and educate yourself and then come back with an informed opinion of your own? Why bother with posts full of guess-work and second hand information?Comment
