Oh he was certainly rocked once or twice and no doubt he was hurt in the traditional sense (I imagine getting punched tends to hurt a lot more than not getting punched).

But in the boxing sense he was never 'hurt' to the point where he looked like he was going down, or had to hold on. The one where he steadied himself against the rope is about as close as it got.

Naseem gets underrated nowadays. He may have not been anyone GREAT, but he beat plenty of good fighters who were quality featherweights at the time.

After winning the WBO belt from Steve Robinson, Hamed beat Tom Johnson for the IBF belt when Tom was considered the top 126 lb fighter in the world and made 12 straight defenses. Manuel Medina was in his prime and went on to do some good things afterwards when Hamed struggled with, but ultimately, beat him. Wilfredo Vasquez was the WBA champ and got stripped shortly before Hamed beat him. Cesar Soto was the WBC champ when Hamed body-slammed him and won a decision. Wayne McCllough was a contender and extremely tough guy and Hamed beat him. Kevin Kelley was a contender, though on the downside, when Hamed won that war.

His fanatics may overrate him, he's not in the great MAB/Morales/Pac level of achievements, but it doesn't mean Hamed wasn't a very good and accomplished fighter in his own right.
