Maybe there's some **********ism behind my preference for the Blow, but I'm convinced he's a special fighter, whereas Hatton is just a very good one. There are no conceivable matchups in which I would not favor Joe (Winky, Taylor, Kessler, etc.), whereas I'd pick against Hatton in nearly a half-dozen cases (PBF, Cotto, Mosely, and more).

Agreed with that. Hey, KayJay, you know when you watch westerns? Whose side do you root for then?

I've always been an underdog guy. My dad was a John Wayne fanatic and in denial about our heritage; I rebelled.

I find that unlikely, the only baseball bat Hatton has ever owned was the one to keep out the burglars!

I never got John Wayne... I mean, he just can't act, can he? I'm taking this to the lounge...

Wayne sure could act, to this day he's had more box office hits than any other actor in the world, ever. Wayne was a physically domineering actor with very strong views that lead to him taking many very similar and formulaic roles and characters.

He represents a bygone era of film-making that the likes of Eastwood and Leone ended up taking into a different direction and like his character of Ethan in The Searchers, Wayne become no longer relevant. An out-sider to the world he had helped create, something old and archaic that didnt fit into todays world.

It does make me laugh... and this is not aimed at you Mayweather90, you're a cool cat.... but Floyd can come on and say he's ****ed Hatton's mother and it's all okay. But should Ricky dare to even say something even remotely detracting, or suggest that the great God Mayweather isn't perfect, and all Floyd's fans come out on a witchhunt.
The usual hypocrisy from Hatton's admirers...

So you don't like Floyd because he talks ****? But you have no problem when Hatton does the exact same thing? Although his obsession with Floyd is obvious, he also talks **** about other fighters such as Collazo, Cotto, Judah, etc. But of course it's ok for Hatton to do that and not for Floyd...

In fact, it's rare to hear Hatton even talk about the opponent he's facing. He likes to talk about "dream" fights, because the only place they will happen is in his dreams since he keeps turning down offers...

Criticising someone is hardly the same as booing them. Both deserve and get criticisism. Booing is where you are so annoyed/frustrated/bored with a fighter that you feel you have to voice your dissapproval by literally booing their performance. Criticism is where you feel dissatisfied with certain things that they have done in their career and things that they ought to rectify. Its nowhere near as strong as booing. Calzaghe and Hatton have both fought everyone put in front of them, they have both DEFEATED EVERYONE put in front of them. They are both showing a willingness to take the big fights in this stage at their career and although neither of them have been perfect throughout each individual fight, their careers SO FAR are spotless with everything that they have done to date.
This part is where we will have to agree to disagree because that is one and the same to me. Booing is being critical and criticism is booing...big fights are you serious, it's more like big fight for the both of them. Calzaghe doesn't bother me as much, I can see he has some skill, but Hatton talks way too much and for too long already. They have defeated everyone they fought, but they have mostly been tune ups. When can a champion have enough tune-ups? hatton has almost 50 fights and he has only fought 1 person!! WTF!!! I'm getting tired of this dude, he not worth defending. i don't care if he appears to be a nice guy, the dude fights no one but talks about who he wants to fight all the time. It's getting annoying...

In Hatton's case we have an exciting fighter with limitations but who knows how to win.

I'd take them over a Floyd Mayweather any day, but that's just me. I'm not asking you to agree. But I am asking you to stoo being negative. Be as much unlike SIN and El Temible as possible; don't act like you have something against people and fighters from accross the pond.
Let's be clear here: I don't have a problem with all people and all boxers across the pond. I don't like Hatton as a boxer. He does way too much talking for my liking and never backs anything up. Kayjay can you understand that, Hatton needs to put some bite behind his bark!! Say what you want about Floyd talking smack, but he gets in that ring and backs it up, I respect that!!

LOL, that's the start and end of the argument right there. When have I ever said I'm a Hatton admirer? I haven't. I talk about boxing objectively... unlike some I could name. (clue: this means you).
