Samuel Peter Won't Step Aside For Klitschko-Maskaev To Take Place, Not For $2.5 Million

hahaha i just came into this thread and i can clearly see we have some klit nut huggers.

viatli is 100 times more enjoyable to watch fight than samuel peters slow plodding sloppy ass, vitali is trying to do the division a favor and put the best champ on top with the most prestigious belt, thats where things need to start

yea thats all fine and dandy but tell me why vitali deserves it more than sam? i didnt see him beat toney twice...

Maskaev is 100 times the fighter that Peter wants to be. Maskaev lost fights to some strong fighters. Peter is living off KOs over bums. Out of two top 10 fighters that Peter faced in his life, he lost a decision to Wlad, lost to Toney (even if unofficially), and won over Toney. In my book, Peter is 1-2 in his 3 fights against the top 10 opposition. Just Maskaev's 2 KOs over Rahman is better than that.

**** money. i'd rather be champ. he can always get money later but he might never get another chance at the title if they screw him over.

Peter wants his title shot. Nothing wrong with that. Furthermore, if he should win against Maskaev as he is expected to, then that would help him gain leverage in negotiations if he fought the "champion emeritus" in V. klitschko.

Peter is supposed to get $3 mil for a Vitali fight after Vitali-Maskaev. Vitali fighting Peter, or anyone, is far from a guarantee. The last time Vitali signed to fight someone, he postponed or cancelled the bout FOUR times. Now unless you think he faked an injury to avoid the almighty Hasim "Oleg is my daddy" Rahman, that shows you that his body is unreliable because of his age and his lengthy fight career.

What I am saying, you cannot show disrespect towards the fighter who accomplished a lot more in his career than Peter. And by the way, I think Maskaev has a small chance defeating Peter.

first of all, we all know peter would KO Maskaev within 5. second, vitali fighting peter for the title shot defeats the purpose of the TWO eliminator bouts between him and toney. He looked bad in the first one but when hes focused he is unstoppable.

I must agree about Maskaev vs. Peter outcome, although Maskaev surprised everybody a couple of times in his career, so you never know. But his chances of winning are slim to none, unless Peter will show up like he did in that fight right after he fought Klitschko. Then Maskaev would have a pretty good chance.

james toney didnt have the power to make peter blink, and wladamir fought an unbelievably conservative fightplan from start to finish..

uh,,,hello? vitali was guaranteed an immediate shot at the wbc shot title if he ever was healthy enough to come back. he's 35 yrs old now and injury prone so of course he doesnt wanna wait around,,,plus I dont recall him turning down 2.5 million to wait for the winner of maskeav vs peter. peter is still young and is turning down what would be a huge payday for him,,,,so he obviously feels he wont be able to beat vitali who everyone knows will beat maskeav. peter is a coward,,,who doesnt wanna get beat up by another klitschko. end of story. this isnt rocket science people
