There is probably more to it that has been reported in the media. Very likely Klitzchko has inserted an escape clause in there somewhere. He ain't goona give away 2.5mil for nothing!

after the loss to wlad, i dont see how beating toney gets you a title shot.... toney has yet to beat anyone good at heaveyweight, he couldnt beat ruiz or rahman...

Peter doesnt want no step aside money, he wants to fight for the title like a real fighter. This is just how Mosley turned down a 10 mill offer to fight a returning Trinidad at 160, and instead took a much harder fight for less money with Wright because he wanted to unify the division.

Peter would knock Maskaev out and then face Klitschko with at least a 50-50 split that would earn him more than the $3 million he would get if he went the other route.

You are clearly discriminating against age!

Let me ask a follow-up question for all the Peter fans... If he decides to step aside and take the money, then should he(Peter) fight a tune-up before challenging the winner of Maskaev/Klitschko? And if he losses his tune-up would that jepourdize his title shot?

IMO, regardless of who Sam Peter's next opponent is, Peter needs to return to the ring asap to build on all the momentum and confidence he has from beating James Toney convincingly. I think he should take the money to step aside and try to challenge for the WBO or WBA titles.

brownpimp needs to by a clue 'bout who he's talkin 'bout, Pimpin'! Yo Bostonguy, just speakin as a guy that respects Peter for his accomplishments & Boxers for being the warriors that they are supposed to be, Peter should actually try to get a warm up fight on the same card as the Oleg/Vitali fight so we can see them all showcase @ the same time. Really & truely, shouts to Sam Peter for not brushin aside who he is for the chance to be who they want him to be. Now Can U Dig Dat!!!!!

I wouldnt take the money as i would be angry at the fact that i had just won 2 title eliminators and i am still not fighting for a title. I cant belive some of you are calling pete yellow has he said that he dont want to fight vitali if he beats oleg, plus i think he could beat a ring rusty vitali.
