Or better yet, why don't I start a sport that would have the player learn the basics of baseball, football, soccer, tennis, and create a sport that incorporates each one. I bet I'd have fans that would rave about how these are the best players in the world. The UFC is like ****en BASEketball, which is why the fights are so sloppy and don't even have a sports feel to them, it's a ****en circus watched by a bunch of rednecks.

I have new respect for Floyd Mayweather, and he is right. It takes more skills to live in the boxing ring - among other factors. Floyd is a fighter, he may love to box, but he would **** you up in a street fight, don't let his style of boxing fool you. Floyd Mayweather would be a killer in a street fight. Ufc's best fighter is using boxing to beat down all the rest of the Ufc fighters. And you mma fans should do you history about boxing, ufc is like the start of what boxing used to probbably look like except i dont' think they ****ed each other on the ground as much, but fought like real men and threw fist.

Okay. Lets put this simple to stop the squabbling.

1). 9 times out of 10, a boxer would defeat a Pride/MMA/UFC fighter in a boxing ring. The reason being that boxing is such a particular skill.

2). 8 times out of 10, a Pride/MMA/UFC fighter would defeat a boxer in any other kind of fight. The reason being that they are more skilled in other disciplines. But the discipline of striking is always hugely important and will always favour the boxer if a fight stays on the feet and turns into a punching contest (as it often starts out).

3). If MMA/UFC/Pride want to remain credible and increase their longevity, they need to make some attempt to join together. Too many different champions with very similar fighting backgrounds means that you'll forever be wondering who is truly the best and the more split up it becomes, the more confusing it is.

How can you say a boxer would loose in a street match to a MMA guy? thats ****ing ******ed. You forget that boxers can't kick in the ring or do other things.. But outside you'll get hit with a ****ing elbow. And boxers know how to manuver and dodge shots.. You got a roided up MMA fighter swinging at you slowley you ducking and dodging like Floyd.. MMA Fighter ain't gonna have **** on ya.. You'll knock his ass out before he can even get you on the ground. A rabbit punch and a fist to the nose is all it takes.

the very idea that there might somehow someway exist an alternate universe of any description in which PBF could possibly "keep his mouth shut" is utterly unimaginable. square circles? maybe. silent and respectful PBF? sorry, can't be done ...

Boxing is an art, which makes it superior to UFC. But on the real, Floyd would get killed in UFC. It wouldn't be pretty. But props to him for sticking up for the sport.

I actually thought the interview was pretty funny... He was acting like a kid who is his first time on TV.. With all the stuttering and what not. So when UFC fighters like Ortiz diss Boxing its alright but then Floyd gets up on a mic and disses UFC now there fans are all butt hurt... boo hoo..

I'm backing Floyd up on this one!

I agree! It was the first time I've ever seen PBF and thought he was likeable... I'm just thinking the original poster is out of their mind to imagine that PBF might ever actually be capable of "keeping his mouth shut"

Floyed tells the camera man who is wearing a UFC T-shirt that boxing is a art and the UFC is a fad. Just want to get some boxing fans opinion on this.

In my opinion, Floyed comes off sounding like a idiot. Considering that MMA uses discplines like judo, BJJ, Muay Thai that have been around for many many years. I say that Floyd stops calling himself a figher and calls himself a boxer. Cause thats what he is and in a real fight he wouldnt last a minute with MMA fighter (fighter being the key word)
Floyd insults his own dad in the media. Why would this surprise you?
