      They are very different sports.
People get confused because of the term 'fighter'.

Plus, i doubt Floyd knows anything about art.
He probably thinks Van Gough was a ninja turtle!

it depends on the boxers some boxers are more oriented to boxing but other are not for example if you take Floyd, Winky or even James Toney the got boxing skills but i dont think they would do it good at thee MMA because they way they fight is more suitable to boxing and not UFC

UFC is nothin in comparison and really is a fad for blood hungry fight fans that want to see a freak show. 90% of UFC fans just wanna see blood and heads bashed, when they go into wrestling mode, they boo and call it gay. Shows how much they appreciate their sport.
Floyd is making some money that hater from UFC to tune in to the DHL-Mayweather fight so they willing to see him get KOed.

Because UFC is a heavily marketed throwaway product. It's a product. Owned by a company named Zuffa. I think a fair few people are waking up to this, UFC is a brand name and not a sport. In fact MMA is really not a sport, rather it's more of a cross discipline contest for sportsment to compete in. Muay Thai is a sport. Judo is a sport. Jiu Jitsu is a sport (or it can be) as is boxing and the various other disciplines that make up the training of an MMA fighter.

Pride and K1 have a higher standard of competitors than Zuffa's product, but those organisations are still only fringe ones in the West. So let's concentrate on the target of Floyd's ire: UFC. UFC is becoming a little like WWE with phony feuds and fake personalities. It's not about the fights, it's about the personalities, it's about selling PPVs and endorsements. That's why it's a fad and that's why its days are numbered.
when a sport become of a buisness it ruins the sport because then it all becomes who does what and thing like that. but there is another thing now boxing have something differen a fan press confress which is the first time done around 5 city it is the DHL-Mayweather fight where there are going to sell a huge PPV could be one of the highest PPV in the history of boxing we gotta wait and see about that because i think it going to be bigger than Tito-DHL and maybe bigger than Tyson-Lewis

i agree with you here each sitaution is good with one form of art and you cant compare oranges with apple like here the people want to do

            Mma Vs Boxing

I have train in Boxing for 6 years and I have being doing MMA for a total of 5 years. For me to be a complete fighter you have to have the entire package. Boxing skills, Muay Thai for kicking and elbows and Brazilian Jutjitzu for the ground game. I would be and exellent challenge for Dana White to ask Floyd to fight either bj penn,George St pierre or Takanori Gomi from Pride. I will bet my entire check that Floyd would get KILLED... MMA is more complete ask any expert.

boxing is "the sweet science"- partly because it is set up in a way where the smaller, perhaps weaker opponent still has many avenues within the rules of the sport to beat a much bigger/stronger man. or a slower person can beat a faster person. i've always felt that boxing's scoring system has been geared toward making anything possible between 2 people who in any other set of circumstances would have a clear superior individual.

everytime i watch mma i pick who i think will win based solely on looking at the 2 fighters and usually knowing nothing about them. and 80% of the time i'm right on point. that's the main reason i don't get into mma nearly as much as boxing. the fights are usually less dramatic and when they are dramatic- its only because the combatants start to trade rather than wrestle or tie up on the mat.

i prefer a battle of speed, strength, and foresight over a couple guys rolling around looking like theyre trying to dry hump through spandex.

just one man's opinion. i've seen some amazing mma fights, but none have stuck with me the way an amazing boxing match does.

ps- and i agree that the martial arts backgrounds of most of the bigger mma fighters are solely used for hype. rarely implemented in fights- 90% of mma fights are just 2 dudes wailing and flailing and doing whatever the hell to win.

Tito Chocha you can use your Boxing and I use My MMA I will kick that ass all night long. All these people taking like they are fighters I bet any money they never put on boxing gloves or did any type MMA ever. You have to know what you talking about before talking about an Art. It feel good to say all this sport is better than this one from behind a ****ing sofa. ALL i have to say is try it for a couple of months than come in here and say what you guys think about each sport. Also I'm not saying that Boxing is **** or anything like that since boxing was my first passion but to be a complete fighter you have to know everything .

Also if you going to go and train some where get train by some who knows what they are talking about and has good back ground.
