everytime i watch mma i pick who i think will win based solely on looking at the 2 fighters and usually knowing nothing about them. and 80% of the time i'm right on point. that's the main reason i don't get into mma nearly as much as boxing. the fights are usually less dramatic and when they are dramatic- its only because the combatants start to trade rather than wrestle or tie up on the mat.

i prefer a battle of speed, strength, and foresight over a couple guys rolling around looking like theyre trying to dry hump through spandex.

just one man's opinion. i've seen some amazing mma fights, but none have stuck with me the way an amazing boxing match does.
    definitaly i agree with you

but boxing is more of a sport

Gomi's 160 lbs you idiot, he would be in the Middleweight division if he is in boxing and would face the likes of Jermain Taylor, Edison Miranda and Winky Wright. His 12 year old face would cave in if he gets hit by a boxer wearing 4 or 6 oz gloves. Ofcourse he would have to resort bringing the fight to the ground and some ground and pound or submissions or just lay n pray on them.

Lol! A typical MMA dumbass ... I really hate it when a dumb MMA fan such as you spew comments like this when it is obvious you don't know **** about the sweet science. I suggest you train both before coming up with a conclusion .
Oh yeah, almost all MMA fighters don't know how to punch (and kick) right and they resort to sloppy boxing and sloppy kickboxing when they do stand up (which is really ****) unless your name is Mirko Filipovic.

I wouldn't be surprised if you think Boxing is just throwing punches against your opponent and nothing more.

Floyed tells the camera man who is wearing a UFC T-shirt that boxing is a art and the UFC is a fad. Just want to get some boxing fans opinion on this.

In my opinion, Floyed comes off sounding like a idiot. Considering that MMA uses discplines like judo, BJJ, Muay Thai that have been around for many many years. I say that Floyd stops calling himself a figher and calls himself a boxer. Cause thats what he is and in a real fight he wouldnt last a minute with MMA fighter (fighter being the key word)
Pretty Boy was just standing up for his sport...Boxing....You didn't post this **** when the UFC President said that boxing was dead.....What, did you expect him to jump on the UFC bandwagon.....All this coming from a MMA & Boxing fan...

And it works both ways. Tito was being a ***** about it on the Howard Stern show if I remember correctly. He was saying even dumber things like he would take out Lewis and Tyson in seconds.

              It is what it is..

The only "Best fighter in PRIDE" Sapp has ever faced was Minutauro....and he was ****ing submitted. Once again another ignorant post where a boxing fan talks out of his ass.

Sapp has fought 3 PRIDE fighters, the rest K-1....and Sapp is ****ing garbage. Nobody thought he's world class.

Boxing is boxing....fighting is fighting. Huge difference.

This post should have been the end of this thread, really!

Boxing skills, Muay Thai for kicking and elbows and Brazilian Jutjitzu for the ground game. I would be and exellent challenge for Dana White to ask Floyd to fight either bj penn,George St pierre or Takanori Gomi from Pride. I will bet my entire check that Floyd would get KILLED... MMA is more complete ask any expert.
Oh really??????.....Complete my ass, if they really are superior at everything they train in then let me see an MMA fighter put on some gloves and fight an elite boxer, or go to thailand and step in the ring with a kickboxer....I can go on and on, and I'm sure they would always come out on the short end of the stick. MMA fighters train to just know the basics of everything and not really get into the art of it.

How about we see a boxer take the 14 oz gloves off....put on some 3oz gloves and fight a MMA fighter in the Octagon. Oh and spare the "Going to Thailand and fighting the best kickboxers".

Thai people don't grow past 5'1 inches tall and weigh 100 lbs. There's no way they could ever compete in an openweight tourney.
