But he showed me and keep on winning.

Barrera came first, Marquez second and Morales third. And yet Barrera is still on the top of the boxing world and is still around. Much credit for Barrera though i rooted against him against Juarez. I hope now that Juarez is on Barreras team, maybe Barrera can help Rocky become a better fighter by talking with him and maybe showing him a few moves.

I was thinking that even though Barrera has been in more wars he still has the faster hands then Marquez. Both are good counter punchers Marquez better but I think Barreras ability to throw in combinations and at a spilt second will make the difference. But i have no doubt this will be a war. No way Marquez would allow Barrera to try and box him or to try and just walk all over him, both are battle tested and both want to shine.
Did you see the Barrera/Salazar fight when Marco was still an upcoming slugger? It was a MD win for Barrera, I haven't seen it so I was wondering if you had any info on it.

Salazar? I don't remember this fight. When i started seeing Barrera he already has a few fights under his belt and he was running through everybody.

I started watching him a few fights before the McKinney fight. He was already a solid baddass before he meet up with McKinney, Barrera was already very well known. I remember before he meet up with J.Jones, he was a monster coming forward and throwing many punchs but his left hook to the body he used to throw it with very mean intentions, used to ko people in this fashion. Back then i really don't recall people calling for a Barrera v. Marquez fight because Barrera was the smaller fighter fighting at a smaller weight. Also back then Barrera did not smile, not after his win, tko or ko, he would not smile, he was a stone cold killer back then, still is with his boxing thought, though imo, he made his name with the style he first started out with. The announcers were alway tripping out that no matter how spectaculer Barrera win was or not matter how hard Barrera got hit, his experssion would not change. Barrera was a beast back then he never boxing his opponet like he did to Rocky till after the 1st Jones fight and he showed us that he can box in the 2nd Jones fight, which i thought he won a razor close descicion. Barrera was mad that he lost and stormed out of the ring, and for the first time Barrero took on confident builder fights and then meet up with Morales. But during the 1-2 years Barrera was gone from boxing, then fighting build up fights and little by little getting the attention back the boxing world brought us "El Terrible" Erik Morales.

Thats how i felt at the time, Valbueno was on point that night, Barrera had a ton of trouble in this fight. Im not sure but i belive Valbueno went on to win a title or was it fight for another title. I havn't heard anything about him anymore for few years. Im sure Barrera learned a lot from this fight, as he is the one that has since been putting on the boxint lessons on his opponets.

if im honest that was one fight barrera could have lost, he came on strong in the championshsip rounds and took more risks from the 9th round onwards to take the win.

your right about barrera back in the day, the dude NEVER smiled, hes face was expressionless, he had no facial expression, his eyes were just open and he would just have this passive, mean look on his face, and he would KILL opponents to the body, its like people have forgotten that was barreras best punch, it probably still is, but because he has added more boxing punches to his attack he rarely goes to the body alot, i remember he would just attack the body, nothing else, his left hook would just CRUMBLE opponents

watch this video, lol at his long hair
