Can Barrera beat a master boxer?

I was just thinking about it and realized I had never seen Barrera handle an excellent boxer before. The one time I saw someone effectively box Barrera was the rematch with Morales, which Morales clearly won. Barrera had no answer in that fight when he was younger and supposedly settling into his boxing style. What has changed since then? I know Barrera can't beat relentless punchers like Pacquiao and had trouble when Morales boxed effectively. I think he can beat anyone that falls in the gap between those extremes (which is almost everybody other than Pacquiao), but what do you guys think? Can he box with a boxer or does he have to make it a brawl?

Barrera was the one who was trying to box in the rematch, Morales wanted a war. When Barrera was unwilling to open up and was content to just moving away and wait on Morales to bug out and leave openings up the middle, he gave away 5 of the first 6 rounds.

yeah that's kind of what I meant. Barrera couldn't box with Morales to save his life and not until he went all out in the last 3 rounds did he win any convincingly. I had that one 8-4 for Morales in a clear win. so if he couldn't box with Morales 4 years ago, can he box with Marquez today?

Well, Barrera was too much wrapped up in trying to box Morales, and when Morales refused to be fodder for Barrera, he was a bust. With Marquez, Marquez can't handle a boxer either. It might be an absolute bust of a fight because of styles, but I expect Marquez to get aggressive and try to make the fight.

I think he meant "master boxer", not just a guy who can throw a jab and do nothing else.

Of course Barrera can beat a person who boxes better than him or someone who has a punchers chance... I think Barrera is so skilled that no matter who he is in the ring with, he will give them hell.

Fana could do other things. He just messed up when he jabbed and then moved straight back. He should've moved to the left.
