I totally agree with you on his competition he faced that is what made him great imo. What 175lb fighter did Dempsey not beat. Rosenbloom? Frazier had already got used to the good life when he fought George and a Frazier of a couple of years before would have had a better shot at George.
Is Frazier Overrated?

Lets not get into the "what ifs" his record remains as it is...
32 - 4 - 1
4 Title defenses
2KO losses to Forman
1 - 2 with Ali
What makes him a GOAT?
He kind of resembles Brewster to me.Comment

take a look at the people he beat, numbers dont tell u everything. Dempsey's competition comapred to his is a joke.Comment

Quarry alone is better than half the people Louis faced in his reign and all of Dempseys foes. I consider his reign and defenses longer than Soprano does.Comment

Who actually says he's the GOAT?I don't understand why this guy is always in the top 10 HW of all time...
His style does not impress me... He's glory is based on his win over Ali..
He was sure a top fighter, but GOAT?! I don't understand...
His record is 32 - 4 - 1
That's like saying Rahman is a GOAT because he KOed Lewis
He's usually ranked in the lower end of the top 10 on the HW rankings all time.Comment

In his relatively short career, Joe Frasier fought and beat some very talented fighters of his era. Some of his notable fights include wins over Jerry Quarry, Jimmy Ellis, Bob Foster, Oscar Bonavena, George Chuvalo, and of course Muhammad Ali. But after ten long years as professional boxer, three hard fights with Muhammad Ali and two blowout loses to George Foreman, Frasier career was effectively over.
So what does all this mean?... I think he's slightly overated because his career was relatively short compared to other HOF heavyweight fighters. Also, I don't think that he wouldn't faired welll against other heavyweight champions of era's past or present; I don't think that he could have dealt with Lennox's size, reach, and power or Tyson's speed and explosiveness.
Basically, his blowout loses against George Foreman and the "brevity" of his career are the deciding factors in this argument.Comment

Quarry, Bonavena, Ellis and Bob Foster are alot better than Holyfields Cooper, Foreman, Holmes then Bean later on. You must be joking. Lewis with guys like Bruno, Jackson, Majovic?, but I will give him credit for Tua, Briggs, and Klictsko. Lewis reign was comparable or better. Holyfield opponents were a joke when he stepped up he lost.Comment
