uh did I say something controversial? I bet if Cotto signed to fight Hatton today, this board would be split 50/50 and Vegas odds would be almost the same.

I'd take Cotto within 8. Cotto is the next great fighter, Hatton is the greatest overhyped fraud in boxing.

Who has he beat again?.. Anybody? Nobody..

Cotto lacks ring intelligence too. He doesn't have the chin to back up his careless, plodding approach.. Tito was a much better fighter than Cotto will ever be- and we all know Trinidad's fate against these crafty, slickster, American fighters.

Floyd would make Cotto look like he's RETARTED.

It would be an incredible joke.
What part of Cotto's last bout...or ANY of his early fights looked like he was a mindless plodder? He only looked like a plodding fighter in about 4 fights, when it was killing him to make 140.

Cotto has beaten some solid fighters. Corley, Quintana and N'Dou were all worthy opponents. No world beaters, but he has MArgarito and other top guys on the horizon.

Cotto's future is up in the air. Tito was rocked and dropped by lesser fighters early in his career too. Tito's fate against crafty, slickster American fighters? Like the all-time great Bernard Hopkins who just happens to be one of the 10 best MIDDLEWEIGHTS of all-time? That fight was one Trinidad would have NEVER won in retrospect. The Wright fight happened well past Trinidads best days. A better marker of Trinidad would have been the 154 pound version that knocked out Vargas against the Wright who shut down Mosley. I'd still go with Wright, but it'd be a much better fight than the shut out we all witnessed at 160.

I think you should review Cotto's early bouts with Bazan, Sosa, Ceballos and others...that's what he's going to look like at 147. He's only going to get better (he will have to if he wants to take down Floyd).

No because the Brits think he is one of the top P4P guys in the world and he has done nothing to prove it. He has the name to make big money fighting big names, but fights scrubs instead.

By the way, I am white.

Ok, so now you're saying that Hopkins and Wright are better than Mayweather? (That's funny "The Ring" hasn't thought so for many months..)

Because you said that Cotto can beat Mayweather.

And you said Trinidad only lost to Wink and Ex for specific reasons..

Either way, I'm finding this a little inconsistent.

Trinidad is better than Cotto will ever be. Right?

And Trinidad lost to two fighters many feel are not as good as Floyd.

But Cotto can beat Floyd Mayweather?..

I'm just trying to connect all the dots here..

                I'm not saying you aren't.

But we should all know that the boxing world gets a little crazy about White fighters.. Common knowledge; as it were..

Hatton gives Mayweather way more trouble than Cotto-that I can assure you.

Not a chance. Hatton has minimal skills. He is wild, swells easily, cuts easily, doesn't "box" well, and wins by wearing opponents down, which he couldn't do against PBF. Cotto boxes well and has more power.

If the fight ever goes down, I'll take Cotto to KO Hatton within 8. Come back and find this if it ever happens. Hatton can't rough Cotto up like he does guys at 140.

Hatton's body attack may be more persistent than Cotto's but it is not clearly more effective and it certainly is not more powerful.

Cotto and Hatton would both have a shot to beat Floyd in my opinion.

Cotto is not very good, that's all.
                      Eh, rethink that.
