I totally agree with you here. Would love to see him in with Taylor, Winky, B-Hop, Kessler, Froch in 2007......I think he has some talent and a lot of skill I just dont think his resume reflects that accurately.

The only fight anybody has taken any notice of is the Lacy fight but hopefully that will all change next year

No matter what happens...2007 looks like its going to be a good year for boxing fans.

I got no prob with JC not fighting taylor yet. JC can fight Kessler, while Taylor rematches Winky.

Joe just doesn't want to ruin Taylor to early in his career. Maybe when JT's made a bigger name for himself by fighting Miranda and if he wins he'll be worthy of Calazaghe.

does that mean that you think Miranda is worthy of fightin joe?

I think Taylor would win a UD over Joe if they fought. I think Winky would beat Joe to.

No, see, this makes perfect sense. Calzaghe beats the crap out of American youngster Jeff Lacy- who was absolutely not ready for a fight against Joe- and it garners him a heaping of praise. If Calzaghe beats another American fighter, this time the middleweight champion, he'd be given more respect and a belt or two. That would do little for his career. If Taylor is not ready, as Joe is saying, what would putting a Lacy style ass whooping on him do? Make Calzaghe look even better? Gain him more respect, and the middleweight championship? For what? What would be the point of beating a good American fighter, getting more American acclaim and notice, becoming middleweight champion and eating more credit do for his career? Not a whole lot.

                      Not gonna happen.

Think Calzaghe has his sights set on Hopkins' july date (Hopkins-Makaev fight very unlikely).
However what is gonna happen if Joe hurts his hands again against Manfredo and can't make a july date? (a VERY likely scenario) Don't expect Hopkins to just wait. Think Calzaghe will be talking up Taylor again or Winky. But he could easily end up fighting yet another warm-up.
