Tyson Vs "Joe Frazier"

That's good, so it is not like you are behind in terms of athletic experience and getting your brain to push for answers on how to get better and how to win.Comment

Wish you the best on getting a very good trainer...do what you can to want and seek out a trainer.
A good trainer/teacher can make all the difference...this has to do with any sport or any type of field.
one key point I always here from top athletes is that they write down there goals and read it when they wake up and then again when they go to sleep. They say to themselves "I want to get better, faster, stronger, smarter, etc."Comment

Prime vs Prime?
Frazier.
Tyson would win the early rounds becaue Joe was always a slow starter and Tyson was a fast starter, so that's just logical.
Here is where it gets interesting, though. Neither man would have been accustomed to fighting a man his own size. Now, while Tyson had more weight on him, that doesn't necessarily mean he would be the stronger fighter because Joe was a better infighter than Mike. Mike was more of a mid-range fighter who had to get set before he released. Joe didn't have to get set, he was always right in your chest and always working.
Tyson, on the other hand, after exploding like a bomb in the first round and throwing huge punches pretty consistantly for the first couple or three rounds began to settle down and fight sporadically. He'd look for an opening and then release a combination, throwing body punches usually in ones and twos while bringing another one or two upstairs; but as soon as he got in a man's chest, he'd fall into a clinch pretty easily, which is something Frazier didn't offer. Frazier would have no interest in resting in a clinch because he built momentum as the fight wore on, while Mike slowed down.
What we've got here are two fighters going in different directions. If Mike doesn't get Joe out of their early, more than likely Joe would wear Mike down and stop him late, sapping Mike's stamina and will to win with consistant pressure and hard body shots and eventually trapping Mike along the ropes or in a corner with Mike not throwing back. Joe won't get a clean knock out over Mike I don't think, though.
Could Mike stop Joe early? Possible; but not probable. Prime Joe was the one who fougth Ali in the first fight, not the Joe who climbed into the ring with Foreman two years and a few pounds later. There is a myth that Joe's chin wasn't that good; but only one man really knocked him out and that was George Foreman. I can see Mike knocking Joe down; but I can also see Mike missing a lot due to Joe's height and head movement. Prime Frazier wasn't that easy to hit at all, unless you were on the inside when he was constatnly hitting you.
Prime Tyson wasn't easy to hit either...from mid-range or long range, which is exactly where Joe would not be fighting from, so it is irrelevant. On the inside, Joe's got the edge....in will to win, Joe's got the edge....and over the long haul, Joe's got the edge. And, in my opinion, Joe wins by mid to later round stoppage.Last edited by K-DOGG; 12-07-2006, 11:56 AM.Comment

[QUOTE=versatile2k6;1970630]whats up with ya'll saying tyson would fall or get k.oed with 1 shot. ****in 6'5 lewis couldnt do it with just shot.it took alot of punishment.
and the tyson heart thing is getting crazy. where in his prime did he not show heart......... exactly none.and how was he not capable of beating some ppl frazier beat.
oh yeah by the way im not on your ass i just like hearing ppls opinions[/QUOTE
frazier floored ali, however tyson had an ability of staying on his feet even when all good sense suggested he should fall(and get the rest)
i never said tyson would fall to one punch i merely suggested it as a possibility
tyson did not show heart in his first career the only fight he was losing at any point was the douglas fight which he lost.
later on in his career his heart was non existent
frazier beat ali, tyson would have been unlikely too. maybe anyone else frazier beat is a bit of a stretch. i mean quary and bonavena would have stood a good chance but i apologise for that remarkComment

Tyson stands as one of the most overrated, undertalented fighters of all time, the only reason he came to find success was because he was in a division of nobodies. I can't believe how many people pick Tyson, especially considering the fact that Joe Frazier beat Muhammad Ali. So basically your argument is that Tyson is better than Ali.
Frazier beat serious opposition and had a damn good career and has always been a favorite of mine. Tyson beat a boatload of unknowns, and suddenly he's a mesiah. 6 words : GET THE **** OUT OF HERE!
its a styles thing think foreman frazier ali
tyson is certianly overrated by alot of his following but he was one of the most talented and physically gifted fightersComment
What do you guy's think the outcome would have been if this fight had ever took place
