I never intimated that the fight would be easy for Margarito. I am only voicing against those who incorrectly see this as an easy bout for Cotto. No one has ever had an easy time with Margarito and neither will Cotto. I would not be shocked if Cotto won, or vice-versa.

Of course, everyone knows Margarito will get hit when he faces Cotto (if). It is up for debate though whether this will be the deciding factor.

I don't think the face shots will mean as much as the body shots. I don't think Margarito stands up to those rib crackers for long.

That's possible. But when Cotto goes low, that's going to give Marg a chance up high. I am curious also to see how Margarito handles such an excellent body attack.

I think Cotto breaks Margarito's body down and stops him late in the fight. He's faster than Margarito and his punches are more compact and he hits harder than Margarito in my opinion. His defense looked a little better last night as well.

Let's have a lil bet if that fight happens...After Urkal, Cotto should fight any of the title holders, he should unify...There are talks of him facing Cintron here in PR..

i bet on quintana because the odds were rediculous, i lost only about 20 bucks. if margarito fights cotto, im betting on cotto, and id bet big, easily. and if Margarito lost to cotto, youd still say hed beat every WW in history.

I'll defently bet with you. But i'll be surprised if Arum puts Cotto in with Margarito.

cotto vs margarito would be a very exciting fight but would probably be determined by the fact that unlike Clottey Cotto wont cover up after throwing punches and let margarito wail on him. he'll move laterly, in and out and that will make for a tough night for margarito, margarito has had lots of success against boxers that exchange with him but were unable to offer anything else in the way of movement. This would be a good fight and both fighters would be put to their biggest test. I dont really see this fight coming off cause as said in the beginning, Arum controls the chess board and he will not put these two together until he absolutely has to. Besides there are a lot of other great possibilities out there for margarito, mosley, Cintron (who has improved vastly) Collazo, castillo if he wins both upcoming fights and even mayweather cause we all know he aint gonna retire and if hes smart he comes back to welter where he has a chance of remaining king.

its obvious that margarito can be much better than he was last night but after seeing what clottey was able to do to him Im pretty confident IMO that mayweather would UD him with similiar results to baldomir. In fact I think it would be a very similiar fight with a lot of stalking from margarito and mayweather just being to fast handed and way to quick a mover.

you want a perfect opponent for margarito to make a big name against? How bout Winky Wright! Both guys are volume punchers but margarito looks to have more power and at this stage in Winky's career he just throws the guard up and eats way too many punches. Margarito is one of the few guys out there that has the style and power to beat Wright. To bad it'll never happen.
