which would be definately shocking, but he would then solidify himself definately.

      OK.

Clottey just won a close, contested decision to RICHARD GUTIERREZ.
      Be serious.
That's like after the first Castillo-Mayweather fight where everyone was walking around calling Floyd - Fraud Mayweather. They were saying Floyd was overrated, exposed and whatnot. Some people think Castillo also has average skills, and that he is not great at anything other than fighting on the inside.

I liked Clottey's chances coming in, and the 1st four rounds really validated that feeling.

It was more than just Margarito's typical slow start. Clottey's style and timing was allowing him to catch Margarito off gaurd and out of rythm. He was throwing 4 left hooks at a time.

Credit to him for stepping up when Clottey broke his hand, but it would have been a much different fight without the injury.

If you've seen Clottey fight before, his left is his bread and butter. He uses it to find range and to do damage. He had very litte chance to do anything after the 5th.

I'd say I'd like to see a rematch, but I want to see Williams get his shot more than anything else.

I think Clottey is not getting enough respect. People are like "Clottey did so good because Margarito is overrated."

No, Clottey did good because Clottey is GOOD.

Has anyone watched Margarito fight before? This is not the first time that he was outboxed early on. He is a known slow starter and usually gives away several of the early rounds.

I have 20 of his fights and it was like many of his fights.
Who has Clottey beat to make you believe he's such a good fighter? Clottey looked like absolute **** in his last fight against Richard Gutierrez. So now since you're saying Clottey is a good fighter, some guy like Gutierrez is also supposed to be a good fighter too since Clottey struggled with him? I can't believe people are trying to give Margarito props for struggling against a fellow C-level fighter in a fight he was on his way to losing if it wasn't for Clottey's injury...

Your comparing the skills of JLC to Clottey?
            What a joke.
            The situations are not comparable.

Clottey definitey had a chance of knocking MArgarito out. His left hook was tagging Margarito so crisp and clear. I would love to see a rematch.

Have you ever heard the expression "style makes fights"? Just because Clottey struggled with Gutierezz, doesn't mean they are equals as fighters. In reality, Clottey is well above "C level".

You should really shut the **** up and go watch the fight.

Nothing worse than listening to someone arguing and debating about things they read 2nd hand accounts of.

Go watch it, then come back and start telling people how they should feel about it.

People were worried this fight would be called off yet Margarito fought on and won. I haven't seen the fight but is it possible the ankle hurt his performance? An injured ankle can hurt more than just mobility. Punching power suffers as well.
If the ankle was hurting him, then he did a great job of hiding it. He looked fine. He was even chasing Clottey around in one round.
