No one's brought up Margarito's injury?

Numerous users are saying that Clottey would have beaten Margarito hadn't he injured his hand. I applaud Margarito if he fought after fracturing his wrist. I still don't think he has a chance in hell against Floyd.

Why does everyone act like Clottey is some nobody? He was a very highly respected prospect until the DQ loss to Baldomir, in a fight he was winning.

Your right, but if the guy doesnt get injured, slow starter or not, there is no way he wins the fight. he couldnt land anything real legit other than some body punches throughout the fight, he won by default because the other guy could no longer throw, which is just plain weak. and margarito is a weak fighter.

naw i think if clottey didnt mess up his hand the fight woulda continued like it was going.there was a visible change of tide in the fight after he hurt his hand around the 5th round

Clottey is pretty average. He isnt great in any one aspect but isnt bad in any either.
He has ok speed, ok skills, good chin, ok power, ok defense.

WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito has been itching to get back in the ring.

It has been 10 months since he last fought.

When Margarito (33-4, 24 KOs) twisted his ankle during a training session 10 days ago, he feared his title defense against Joshua Clottey (30-1, 20 KOs) on Dec. 2 in Atlantic City, N.J., on Showtime might be in jeopardy.

"When I twisted the ankle, my first reaction was, 'Oh, no. My fight is gone,'" Margarito said Monday after his open workout at South El Monte Community Center. "But I stayed off it for three straight days. It was pretty swollen that first day, but after icing it for three days the swelling went way down. Now, you can hardly tell that I had hurt it at all."

Margarito sparred six rounds, worked the mitts and bags and showed no ill effects from the ankle injury during his two-hour workout.

Margarito said his entire focus is on Clottey.

"There is no way I will look past Clottey," Margarito said. "It is frustrating when you cannot get the kinds of fights you want. But I am done worrying about it. The fights will come.

"Right now, my total focus and concentration is on Clottey and putting on a great show on Dec. 2."

Cintron was one of the most promising welterweight prospects until Margarito wrecked him but everyone has forgotten about that.

Margarito did have a legit fractured wrist. How that affected him or when he exactly injured the hand is unknown, but he never stopped throwing punches. His stamina is unreal.

He has two tough fights ahead of him, Williams next and then Cotto if he wins. Those two fights will show if he is the real deal or not.

Man come on, the difference between cintron and clottey fights are a world a way. Cintron was in there crying and breaking down, while clottey could not throw anything legit after the injury, you CAN NOT compare those 2 fights at all, and nobody is really tearing down clottey because margarito didint really do anything to him, it was what he did to himself that lost him the fight.

cintron getting destroyed has nothing to do with margarito looking like absolute crap against clottey even AFTER the hand injuries and margarito just threw punch after punch with no accuracy.
