    - -Boxrec after two decades had finally arrived a credible ranking system after tweeking their myriad incomprehensible formulas, but the geeks in charge added a "future predictability" with it's own incomprehensible formula to make a laughable hash out of all their hard work .

Nobody, ie NOONE likes it save a sprinkle of geeks.

The best rankings would be an amalgamation of boxrec and Ring for current ratings.

No, they would need to allow you put sensors everywhere, but even then I think you'd come up short in being able to fully evaluate a fighters ability. At least relative to other sports where you can more easily classify such things.

Metrics in boxing, and statistics of the like would be fun though; but its why I think you need the eye test somewhat. Especially, since there is so much politics about who gets to fight whom and when. In most other sports you have a set schedule, or at the very least a single ruling entity who tries to ensure competitors get their fair shot. In boxing, you are only as good as the promotion you sign with, thats why some guys get stuck fighting worse competition.

No shame in a really good featherweight losing to a really good lightweight.

He came back and this was how he defended his notion that Loma sh its on Robinson, Ray Leonard, etc... You ready for this? He elevated Lopez! It would be absolutely hillarious if Haney beat Lopez... How would Rusty deal with that? It would make Haney better than virtually any fighter Leonard, Robinson, fought.

Watching him dig a hole and suicide by Mod, knowing he is an idiot is amusing.

Duran had no answer for Hearns either.

Yeah, but Hearns was a legend.

Duran also moved up to welterweight and beat the undefeated Sugar Ray Leonard.

One thing seems certain. The big Mexican never did hurt Chenko, but Chenko hurt him several times, or at least stunned him more than he himself was ever stunned. Lopez is probably being hugely overrated at the moment. He looks like an average champ, not an all time great. A lot of fighters have been prematurely heralded as ATGs. A lot of experts swore Donal Currey was the deal. Whoops. Shane Mosley. Whoops. De la Hoya. Whoops. Trinidad. Whoops. The list goes on.

Hearns was no legend at the time he KO'd Duran.

However, Duran shivered for Hearns, according to his own people. They never saw him afraid of anyone else but the Hitman.

Tiny Duran may be the only great fighter Hearns ever beat. Cuevas and Roldan and that ilk were not great fighters, though they were indeed excellent competition. The Leonard most people believe Hearns beat was not a great fighter at that point either.

Even evaluating Hearns is a freakish enterprise. You know that chin is not holding up against certain people unless he knocks them out first, which he can usually do, however.

beaten up by a fat journeyman and outboxed by a mediocre novice.

lomo is a garbage fighter tbh.

14-2 is bad enough but the fact that it happened against bums.
