    - -Arms?

See Lyle/Ali where Lyle is literally chasing the ref down protesting his stoppage of that fight when Lyle decided to have some fun and ropadope Ali at his own game.

No matter, blame the ref for not stopping the rd, not Duran for having to do his job for him.

By the way, the boxing commission (can) reverse the referees call, and has been done.

Shake the hand that shook the hand of John L. Sullivan,
      who said that?

I watched Ali vs Lyle live back in 1975. Many thought Ali carried Lyle as he seemed to put him away when he liked.

At the beginning of round 11 Ali landed a terrific right that buckled Lyles knees sending him backwards to the ropes. From that moment onward Ron did not try to land a punch and was hit with around 30 consecutive punches. This flurry culminated with a booming left hook that jerked Lyles head to the right which prompted the ref to stop the fight. I never saw any issue with the stoppage. Only the most devote Ali haters did in my experience.

Little John is correct. Now, I know your style for our future match. Did you happen to know Willie Pep?

Na, no connection, just a fan.

P.S. GJ, The fight on the barge is magical, not for the realness of the action but the ambiance of the period it recreated.

I met Willie Pep, he was a great guy. "He instantly recognized another great fighter standing up."

Pep always appeared so sharp mentally all through the 70’s and 80’s and 90’s. So “with it”. Then I heard he eventually fell apart with dementia due to blows to the head.

Can anybody imagine Willie Pep beating Henry Armstrong, both in their prime for the Featherweight Title. Hank couldn't hit him in the ass. Pep wins by Decision.

Be lotta action though with Henry swinging at phantisms.
