Most of the top black actors are not much. They are not good, they are just good & black. They're no Morgan Freeman, to put it bluntly. Will Smitty was hideous as Clay. Fox is hideous as anything. His voice is going to be sickening in this one.

Well, that sounds like a completely biased opinion.

It should have been made as an HBO mini series; too many important events were given only one scene and it was left to the audience to fill in the necessary back stories themselves.

This worked find with those familiar with Ali's story, but for most of the uneducated younger generation there was no chance to build the necessary intensity that surrounded the events as they unfolded.

The film jumped from one major event to another; Ali's life lived too large to fit into a two hour film.
Could be why it didn’t do well at the box office.

To me, the movie could only be a compliment to all the info that’s already out there. Which has gotten booooring, or should I say redundant.

Ali could’ve/should’ve left his entertainment driven legacy as is - with the same ole’ biographies that’s been circulating ever since. People will get what they need out of them.

Will couldn’t replicate a man that was still trying hard to add to his ever increasing narrative. Will just was. Will didn’t capture the guy who wasn’t done redeeming his life for public consumption and his religion. It takes some real insight to pull that off.

There are no puzzles out there as to how Ali wants to be remembered. His close friends are/were on board with all the accolades. So the public will take from that.

Ali liked Will and wanted to see what Will could do with his life on the big screen. Which can be viewed as narcissistic OR complimentary.

Sorry to say, Will is his own larger than life showman - Ali needed a good obscure actor to to bring the pain, and “maybe” a better completed storyline.

Will & Ali are such characters that Will playing Ali would only short circuit their attributes on screen. I couldn’t get into it, I’d rather watch old Ali interviews on YouTube to feel his true vibe.

Two hours can’t do much for ANY complicated mans biography on screen. Not even Pee Wee Herman’s. Unbiased searching will always be necessary - even for the self ascribed “Greatest.” Like finding out about the “immoral” or “honorable” statues many want to get rid of today.

The ignorance Ali showed towards Frazier could’ve also been highlighted - to show how much Ali could suck as a human being - to keep it ever so real. Shortcomings make for real life drama. He showed remorse which is always a plus.....

He's right about the voice. Do you think Jamie is gonna sound like anything other than trying to do a goofy Tyson impression like he did in his stand-up act?

Zero chance that it can be taken seriously.

With CGI covering damn near everything else - Jamie Foxx's performance is going to live or die on his 'voice.' It must be hell for an actor to prepare for a "celebrity," especially one, as mentioned above, with a distinctive voice that is commonly mimicked in stand up routines.

Too much, and he'll be accused of caricature; not enough, and they will say 'he never found it."

He's (Foxx) kind of F***ed. He better morph into Peter Sellers fast.

Jamie Foxx has played roles as diverse as Ray Charles and Django. He'll be fine.
