Comments Thread For: Jamie Foxx Reveals: Mike Tyson Movie is Finally Moving Forward

According to award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, the planned motion picture on the life of Mike Tyson is finally moving forward. Since the 2014 announcement that Foxx, now 52-years-old, would star in a biopic as the former undisputed heavyweight champion, the project has had numerous delays and other issues that continued to put the film on the shelf.

I thought Michael Jai White did a good job in the 1st Tyson movie years ago in 1995 on HBO named Tyson. He has become a better actor since then. Why not let him do it again. He stays in shape, can actually box, was considering MMA, and looks more like Tyson to me. But I know Jamie Foxx has an Oscar and did an excellent job with Ray Charles.

This should be fun to watch. Jamie did a GREAT job portraying Ray Charles, so doing Mike should pretty much be a breeze. I used to love doing the young Mike back in the day, it (the impression) has a funny way of growing on you when you realize Mikes simple but ambitious direction at the time. Those were some fun times walking home from part-time work in Brooklyn, defending your "hero" - making your friends laugh. I wonder if theyre gonna use Brooklyn as a real backdrop for the film? Mikes area hasn't really changed at all. Looking forward to the ingenuity and creativity behind this! BIG UP to BROOKLYN, boxing, and ALL my poster DON GOR GONS who've enjoyed this crazy sport over the tumultuous years!!

I was thinking the same thing. But came to realize, Jamie isnt old looking, has a youthful appearance & spirit that can do wonders for the role. Also, Hollywood makeup artists can do wonders with Jamies appearance - they can also take YEARS off his look with possibly using some CGI (remember Benjaman Buttons?). Plus, different actors can play Mike during different stages of his career.... They're possibly gonna need a "kid" actor to play Mike growing up....
