The bar can get sued unless it has made a special deal (probably expensive) to have a public viewing.

      - -Couldn't find a single bar showing Manny vs Floydy for just that reason, but chances are they won't give them the fight because they know they're a bar to begin with.

Nope... they have people that work for the cable company that checks on the bars, probably the same people who make sure people do not steal a signal by turning off a filter at the box. The bar will get fined and their contract revoked for service if they are found showing the fight. Greedy and frustrating but true.

Apologies to Ben and QueenB, I did not read through the thread when I answered this initially.

Personally, I see myself as a proud member of the working class. After all, it is me and my mates who support the middle class, so its members can continue keeping (just their) civilization alive. Our (the working class) reward for this are paid in peanuts. But hey, that’s life, and has always been. In the long run, it is of no importance as most of us will soon be forgotten.

Good thing, though, that boxrec keeps the memories of ‘forgotten’ fighters (regardless of their achievements) alive.
great post Ben! The soldgers who fought the wars against the Nubian empire had seen hard times and when they returned to Egypt they were given land and status. They started to educate and eventually questioned the divine identity of the Pharaoh. This did indeed cause problems in the empire.

Oh okay because I see some local bars advertising getting UFC shows being shown there and boxing, so I guess they have that special deal with the cable company. Some of the big chains too, like Dave and Buster's and TGI Fridays will show fights too.

Any bar "sports bar so called" should be able to buy. What you get is a form of sport's chauvanism. So you go into a pub and simply ask if they bought the fight to show and they act like you are a barbarian. Even in Nevada, the casinos, where you can lay cash down on the fights, they often are not shown.

That is why I am getting back at them, Billy. I hardly ever even read the articles on this site's front page anymore. I feel like I am landing some punches back on the boxing promoters. What do I care about Tyson Fury's line of bull today? Or Hearn or Warren's fussing? It is only boxing. A person who knew everything about it would still be a dumb shìt, proven by the effort it took to learn something so voluminous but useless.

Truly a picture is worth a thousand words at least by buggery! Yes the useless drivel is a picture...along the lines of a crayon sketch.

Truly in the days when bartenders and boxing refs, had bald heads, were tough looking and serves up a nice cold Blue Ribbon, and the fights were on one of the televisions with people cheering on...was, by comparison a Picasso, before he stole Cubism from Cezan.
