Saying that is the only reason he lost is an opinion, and an opinion that could have been put to rest had he sought a rematch. You can't even pinpoint when he was hurt in the fight. HBO says the corner said something about it around the 7th round, I don't remember exactly off hand. Queenie says he was already injured and needed surgery before the fight. These are excuses. Byrd landed the punch that injured Vits. Both he and his trainer state this. And the fact remains, he never stopped throwing that left hand and still only landed 8 more punches the entire fight while being made to miss more than he ever had before or after Byrd. It doesn't matter if he won every second of every round, he still lost. How anyone can excuse him for not making a rematch but letting g little bro take care of business is beyond me. If you lose you lose. Quitting and not rematching just leaves a bigger stain.
