I do not think any heavyweight in the top 10 today would have lost as badly to Ali in that fight. As a matter of fact I do not think a top 10 heavyweight from any other era would have done that badly. No A-rate fighter should be beaten that easily, even by the GOAT.
Tony Galento did 100x better against a Prime Louis than Liston did against Ali, is Ali 100x as good as a Prime Louis ? I think not. 50+ Archie Moore did much better against Ali then Liston did !
I'm sorry to all Liston fans but I cannot see him as anything more than a B-rate boxer who was fortunate to be born in a weak era. I do not think he'd make the Top 10 today or even 10 years before or after his time. He wasn't a bum but he just wasn't great or even world-class.billeau2 likes this.

Liston was about 70 when he fought Ali. He had incredible power, massive reach, but limited boxing ability and no speed. honestly, probably would not be top 50 today. Even Ali would be no more than top 20 now, but he brought personality to sport, and that's more than boxing. Nash out.
