He beats everyone 160-175. I think he beats all CWs except maybe Frazier if we let Frazier fight at Cruiser

lol @ some of the responses.

Jones certainly schools everyone that came after him. People forget it was after moving up to Heavy and coming back down he got caught by Tarver, who was a decent fighter.

        However for all time take

McClellan, Hagler, Monzon (knocks Jones out, he was crafty) George Benton, Ruben Carter, Prime Mccallum.

They all got great chances vs Jones, Even Hopkins in a rematch tbh, in the last rounds of his fight with Jones he seemed to have figured something out.

Not saying they all beat him, but they could.

          - -LOL!

Yeah, Popkins finally figured out he'd been getting whooped by a one handed fighter.

That's why he paid a $2mil judgement to Dibella to squirm out of the rematch. Popkins had a gentlemans agreement to fight the winner of Danny Green/Roy, but squirmed out of that handshake deal after Danny knocked out Roy. So finally he gets a rematch against the heavily damaged Roy, and BINGO, Roy left Popkins bawling like a sissy crying about his Boo-Boo.

Real History, read it and weep for yer boy!

Dude, this is hard to read. I agree: Jones nut-huggers seriously over-exaggerate his abilities. Even Mayweather fans don't really claim he could clean out the titans of the Welterweight division. But you don't need to go the other way.

Bryant Brannon couldn't make it out of the 2nd Round, how do you expect the club fighters you named to fair any better? Ruben Carter? George Benton!? I love a Philly Cheesesteak as much as the next guy, but even if they're buying I'm not calling those guys live game against Jones. Maybe, just maybe, Joey Giardello on one of his good nights would out-box Jones. P4P he was the more skilled fighter. He could play spoiler to Jones.

But if you're talking about guys bringing the fight to the much bigger Jones, then you need to be talking about true ATGs. Guys like Valdez (the best fighter Monzon fought), Griffith, **** Tiger, and the inimitable Mickey Walker would all be better choices for bringing the pressure against Jones. As much as I admire them all, I don't consider one a favorite. Hagler was too slow for the smaller Leonard, so it's hard to see him fairing any better against Jones.

Even Monzon, who would have been very evasive, might have been too upright against the bigger, faster Jones.

Like I say again, Jones is not even in the top discussions involving GOAT, AT P4P or even greatest light heavyweight ever. He did not take the top challenges that were available, remaining one of the top cherrypickers of all time. He did not hunt down great challenges or try to force them. Cherrypicking is the boxing category he most excelled in.

Any top fighter that avoided his top challenges is going to watch his legacy diminish after retirement. Mayweather's is going to diminish too. Not as far, but it will drop. He was a cherrypicker, though not to the degree of Jones.

Nah Mayweather learned the formula: When Greb retired (did he retire?) he bought the most expensive glass eye he could...Mayweather saw that see? and instead of an eye? he went for the most expensive watch he could...Whats the difference? And they were both boxers!
