Great fighter. Probably lost a couple he should have won, but that's boxing. Also didn't like though fruity pictures he supposedly did, but great fighter.

Notice that before we got the GGG/Canelo fight it was necessary for Hoya to perform one giant ripoff on the the public first with Chavez/Canelo. Maybe Bill is right that he is a sociopath.

They all engaged in lying for the dollar. Hoya knew Chavez was a hopeless victim, that is why he made a point of talking about how good his chances were before the fight.

A fight fan was supposed to know. I didn't watch it, still haven't. No need to waste my time. Reading about it was boring enough.

It was nearly an excluisve ripoff just for Mexicans. Hoya left them with a feeling of satisfaction that a ripoff had been provided and tailored exclusively for their tastes that whitey couldn't care less about.

from the get go, people here at least, saw this as the cash out fight for jr that it was (hopefully those bishes left him some ).

jr said he was in great shape and ready to shock the world; ''of course i can knock him out.''

its gbp fault an opponent failed to keep his word would it have been better if jr went all out and got kfto within 3 rds

no one gave jr a chance yet people paid to see it. how is that a ripoff ?!?!? anyone who considered this an event is easily entertained.

The Chavez Jr fight was a moneymaker. Good business move by Oscar, he's just doing his job.

As a boxer he had a great career. He wasn't afraid to challenge himself. As a boxing primotor he's doing surprisingly well. I don't like some his moves concerning G and Canelo but Canelo is making tons of money. Oscar is a smart guy.

                First ballot HOF'er.

                Top 100

Fought a lot of guys, but his best wins are good, not great (Quartey & Vargas).

Nevertheless, he had fantastic skills, solid chin and a meanness too him behind the Hollywood looks. Should've got with Floyd Mayweather Sr. sooner; they were a nice combination.

                  Top 100

                  Probably top 75

One of the greatest "offensive" fighters i have ever seen..

Was a complete monster at 130,135,140.. People forget all the horrific beatings he put on top level guys like genaro, lieja, etc.. Really only tested by molina and pernell until oscar was entrenched at 147

First of all, great fighter, secondly he fought a lot of top fighters and had many entertaining fights. Of course he has done questionable things (we know what they are) but so have a lot of great fighters. Mayweather, Pacquiao, even SRR so i'm not gonna judge him too much for those things, even though he's been acting crazy for a few years now. I can't really hate too much on him inside the ring. As far as where he ranks all time, it's very hard to say but I will make these observations...

                    1. He was the biggest draw of his era because he gave us many great fights. Of course he didn't win all of them, probably should've rematched Whitaker & Quartey as it's fairly split on who won those fights, and should've fought Winky Wright after he beat Mosley, but on the other hand most think he should've won against Trinidad and Mosley in their second fight, and to be fair to him he did face Mayweather in a fight that was huge for boxing at the time. Most of his fights were great to watch but especially the ones in his prime from 95 to about 2002. The first fight with Mosley is one of my absolute favorites to watch, great action.

                    2. He made 2 big mistakes in going up in weight to fight Hopkins and going down in weight to fight Pacquiao. I feel like his career could've been extended a few years if he didn't do those things. Going back down to 147 for the first time in 8 years was totally crazy, he could've still done some things at 154, it would have been nice to see him fight Vernon Forrest (RIP) that would've been interesting.
