1976 for me, so right in the midst of Ali's second title reign, lasting about 3 years. Tyson was champ when I started watching boxing though, sometime in 1987. First fight I saw on TV was Mike McCallum knocking out Donald Curry, followed by Tyson vs. Tucker, then Biggs and from then on, I was hooked.

Wow! Lets put your intro to boxing into perspective: Its like me getting on the plane I took to Lafayette Louisiana, but its my first airplane trip... the plane lands in a swamp, we climb out as the plane sinks in swampsand, forever, and we make it ashore being chased by alligators.

I bet the second fight you watched was a letdown!

For me it was Boombya Ali Boombya. I still remember in the schoolyard how the kids would imitate Ali...I was a ****** kid so I imitated Frazier. lol. We would argue about Ali in school, my family loved Ali, as a kid I wasn't sold on him because he picked on Frazier.

My dad used to become enraged with Cosell.

Precisely why I called him a punkass. You can imagine my disappointment when this guy who was made out to be the biggest Goliath killing David ever find a comfy spot on the canvas to lay his fat ass down and throw away the undisputed HW championship(which still meant so much back then).

Nah I was just a baby at that point But that's still how I feel about him.
