Boxing fans in such denial about mma.. Ufc is going to have half a dozen million plus selling PPVs in the past 12 months, boxing has zero,,, and somehow fanboys think "3-5 years we will get a star" and are oblivious to the fact that boxing is horribly run produces no more stars and mma runs smooth like a legit sport and constantly produces new drawing stars.

I'm a much bigger boxing fan than I am an mma fan, but you can't be blind to how horribly ran boxing is and how it's basically dead to the general public in North America.
Casual fans tuned into a lot of huge fights for boxing but are usually disappointed, while casuals tune into big fights in mma and they are usually pleased. Hence why ufc PPv numbers are thru the roof and boxing has dwindled to historic lows
      My man....

i've gone through this debate with a few other MMA fanboys...

Look, I watch MMA...try to catch all of the big fights...look at the different smaller cards on network tv...ect....

The UFC is not going to get any bigger than it already is.

I provide solid facts that have statistics that hold weight and I want you to research in the same manner as I.

UFC 129 is the largest ever gate the UFC has had in terms of fan attendance. They GOT 55,724 to to come out to this event which was their first in Canada, Ontario, to be exact.

      Live with that...Largest EVER.....

      Mind you....

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez just sold OVER 52,000 tickets to fight an uknown fighter to the U.S., population in Liam Smith....

Explain to me how MMA is even remotely a threat? I'll wait.....

So there were no other stars at all?? nobody in the late 20s or early 30s could draw.. Yet north america had dozens of fight cards every week across the nation that sold really well..

Right now, every week america has dozens of cards across the continent but you still say that there isn't a boxing star besides Canelo.

            Lmao...

About to sell over 10 million ppvs in a single year... Doubles any year in boxing

Actually gets paid to be on network TV... Boxing has to pay

Going to have at least 5 different million+ plus PPv fights this year and several that topped 500k.
A horrible matchup like bisping-hendo 2 did 500k and most certainly double up the best fight in boxing in kovolev-Ward

Explain to me why boxing has to pay to be on network TV, and networks pay ufc hundreds of millions each year?

Why did 80% of ufc just sell for 4 billion.. i could buy gbp, top rank and Pbc for less than a billion?

But yeah,,, ufc is no threat,,, boxing is doing great... PPv buys up, hbo budget increased, fights every week with no month long droughts, all the big fights are being made quickly, yeah boxing is doing great

Why don't you just answer the question why networks would spend hundreds of millions on ufc but not boxing and boxing has to spend hundreds of millions to be on network TV?

Name the year that boxing had 5 ppv fights that did over a million in one year?

There you have only the fights of the Friday, i never said it were big fights, but sure fights happens every week no matter if a good fighter is headlining or not.
You asked for a time when there wasn't a huge boxing star and i told you that time, so you said that they were a lot of cards every week, i told you that happens even these days, so now you are asking for big fights?, i never said those were big fights, i just said that the post Dempsey era was lacking a star with the back then unheard capacity of drawing a million dollar gate and that is a truth.

I'll just keep it simple for the time being.

The UFC made $157Million in revenue last year....

                      Let that marinate.....

                      May-Pac generated $400+ million....

Anyway you slice it....when boxing starts are on the forefront, they will always dominate...
