        vs.

Hi, and welcome to the Houston Astrodome in Houston, TX, for fight #2 between muhammad ali and jim jeffries. ali won the first match, but can jeffries pull the upset? ali is now a cinch to win as a 6 to 1 favorite. ali came today rather out of shape at 217 1/2, and jeffries was in terrific shape at 216, feeling that this will give him extra speed against the elusive ali. earlier today ali was interviewed by a reporter.

reporter: "I heard that you didn't train much for this fight, is this true?"

ali: "Yeah, well there no way this bum could beat me, so why should i train like a madman?"

        rep: "Any predictions?"

        ali: "Nope, not today. Sorry!"

I guess ali feels he's got it in the bag. well, here's the tale of the tape.

        Muhamamd Ali

        age: 25
        height: 6'-3"
        weight: 217 1/2
        reach: 80"
        record: 29-0-0 (23ko)

        Jim Jeffries

        age: 29
        height: 6'-2"
        weight: 216
        reach: 76 1/2"
        record 18-0-2 (14ko)

jeffries is now in the ring wearing a black robe. some boos could be heard from the 95,000+ fans. ali now comes bouncing into the ring wearing a white robe that has "THE GREATEST" across its back. let's listen to ring announcer michael buffer!

michael buffer: "Llllllllets get ready to rumbllllllle! in the blue corner, from San Francisco, CA, wearing black trunks, at 6'-2", weighing 216, the boilermaker, jaaames jeefrieees! and in this corner, from houston, TX, wearing white trunks with black trim, standing six-three weighing 2 seventeen and a half, the greatessst muuuhammmaaaaaad aaaaaaalliiiiiiiiiii! 15 rounds!!

ali doesn't even bother to stare or talk to jeffries as referee mark conn gives instructions.

Round 1: ali circles jeffries and uses his jabs. jeffries lands some right hands that ali takes. ali is trying to dance away, but a little bit of bounce is gone in his legs and he is not as elusive as he was two days ago, and jeffries is cutting off the ring well against ali, landing some good body shots. ali is fighting off the back foot, but jim closes the gap. ali lands left jabs periodically, but jeffries lands some shots as well. some right hands get into ali's face as jeffries dominates and wins the round, the first round jeffries has won in the whole tournament!: ali is listening to dundee nodding his head. jeffries looks determined and confident.

Round 2: Ali continues to land his left jab, but jeffries cuts off the ring. ali is trying to stay away but to no avail. jeffires pounds the body and lands some left hooks to the head. ali scores with left jabs and straight right, but jeffries is doing much better than in the first fight. the crowd is on their feet as jeffries tries to upset muhammad. jeffries and ali get into a clinch, the first clinch in this particular series. jefries attempts to use his strength to muscle ali, but jeffries is suprised as ali uses his 217 1/2lb frame to push jeffries off. jeffries is astounded at his physical strength as one phase of jim's game plan just went out the window. jeffries felt that with his his new found speed and the increased clinching, that he would dominate in that area, but he was sadly mistaken. ali continues to land jabs, but jeffries is still landing his big shots and aagin, wins the round: dundee is screaming at ali to keep moving and to stay focused. delaney tells jeffries to keep pressing the fight.

Round 3: ali moves around and lands his jab, but jeffries still manages to close the gap. ali is taking all the shots jeffries throws at him, but he knows he has to pickup the pace, so he starts jabbing at a furious pace, but jeffries finds openings to throw punches, and ali is a bit worried. jeffries fights a smart fight to win this round as well: ali is getting some rest and delaney is applying ice to jeffries slightly swollen eye.

Round 4: jeffries presses the fight, and ali, realizing that he has no other choice, plants his feet and starts to trade with jeffries. after about 30sec of throwing punches, ali gets up on his toes again and is landing his jab and straight right. ali looks slightly better this time, using the ring well, and dancing at inervals, periodically going flat-footed to conserve energy he would have more of if he trained harder. jeffries still lands some shots. this round is about even: ali is a bit weary, and so is jeffries, but both of them are fine. jeffries eye is now very swollen, and delaney fears that it's just a matter of rounds before conn might stop the fight because of a nasty cut like last time.

Round 5: ali is now on his toes throwing rapid-fire combinations, landing most of them. ali is doing a slightly better job of keeping away from jeffries. ali and jeffries both are landing some big shots, and jeffries eye is now slighly cut. ali is landing his jab effectively and narrowly wins the round, finally!: delaney is tending to that eye, and ali is resting.

Round 6: Ali is again circling looking for that spot. jeffries is landing a few good shots that staggeres ali. ali manages to dance away long enough to recover, and he continues with his gameplan. ali keeps peppering that cut eye as the flow of blood increases. ali keeps doing this while dancing away from jeffries punches. this is ali all the way: delaney is working very hard to keep that eye under control, and he is successful as he closes the cut. dundee is giving ali a few pointers. both fighters are up at the warning bell.

Round 7: Ali is landing that jab effectively while jim continues to corner ali and land body shots and some left hooks, something he has been practicing since the last fight. jeffries feels this is his only chance to victory, landing the left hook on ali. ali manages to cut that eye agin, as he works on it with hard left jabs. jeffries continues to cut off the ring, landing big left hooks that periodically stunn ali. this is jeffries round: ali and jeffries are both a bit tired and need all the rest they can get.

Round 8: Ali is still jabbing at that eye, but now is putting punches together and moves a bit better, however jeffries still systematically closes the gap at times, but ali does enough to win the round as jeffries eye is now in an appauling state as blood is all over his chest from that eye: delaney works on the eye, and ali i given instructions at the warning bell.

Round 9: Ali works on that eye and cut ist again, now he throws alot of punches at that eye. jeffries is now half blind and ali hits him at will. blood is all over jeffries, a good amount is on the canvas, on ali, and on referee mark conn when he pushes the two fighters apart from clinches. conn is given no choice but to stop the fight. ali raises his hands in victory, but in his heart he known he has been lucky to come away with a win, for jeffries was ahead on two of the judges scorecards.

buffer: "the winner by a tecknical knockout at 1:58 of the ninth round, Muhammaaaaad, aaaaaaliiiiii!(the crowd cheers in gratification)

ali: "no way this guy could beat me. i embarrased him here, now i'm gonna embarras him on his terf!"

jeffries: "My plan almost work. i feel there is a momentun shift, i'll be fighting him with my fans lokking on now, and i'll have the support my people. i know i could beat clay now!"

ali walks over to console jeffries. dundee cuts off ali's gloves and congradulates him, and then angelo quickly walks out of the ring to catch a plane, because in just a matter of hours, he will be one of the handlers for rocky marciano's fight against holyfield.

well, that was a better fight than last time, and a close call for ali. can jeffries use the home-ring advantage in his favor, find out on wednesday. now let's send the cameras over to denver, CO!

          vs.

this is butterfly1964 and welcome to the Stockyards Stadium in Denver, CO for fight #2 between Jack Dempsey and Max Baer. Baer pulled an upset, but can dempsey do the same tonight, cause now dempsey is the underdog at 2 to 1. dempsey was again in phenominal shape at 191, and baer was 213. earlier, i had the honor and the pleasure to interview dempsey.

butterfly1964: "Well, jack, how do you feel about this fight?"

dempsey: " I promise that i will not lose. i'm too focused. this is what i have to do. just taking care of business."

butterfly: "I really feel honored to be interviewing one of my favorite fighters of all-time."

dempsey: "Well, thank you, i appreciate that!"

Here's the tale of the tape!

          Jack Dempsey

          age: 28
          height: 6'-1"
          weight: 191
          reach: 77"
          record: 61-4-9 (49ko)

          Max Baer

          age: 25
          height: 6'-2 1/2"
          weight: 213
          reach: 80"
          record: 40-7-0 (30ko)

Baer comes into the ring and warms up by swinging his arms, and dempsy comes in with his head bowed, and the crowd goes wild.

buffer: "Lllllllllllets get ready to rumbllllllllllleeee!! fighting in the blue corner, from Livermore, CA, wearing blue trunks, he stands 6'2 and one-half inch, weighing twoooo-thirteen, the Livermore Larupper, Maaaax Baaaeeerr!! and in the red corner, from Manassah, CO, he wears solid black trunks, he stands 6'1, he weighs one ninety-one, the manassah mauler, Jaaaaack Deeempseeey!(loud cheers)

dempsey puts the stare on baer as mark conn gives the instructions.

Round 1: Dempsey comes out bobbing and weaving, and max comes out slugging. dempsey is caught with a right cross, but he takes it well, and ducks under baer's other wild punches. jack moves in and out looking for that spot. demspey connects with solid punches to the body, and then the left hook connects and down goes baer! Unlike dempsey-tunney II, dempsey quickly goes to a neutral corner. he learned his lesson, lol! when max rises dempsey rushes back and is throwing blistering punches that send max down again. max has no defense for this kind of fury and goes down a total of 16 times in the first round!: dempsey is confident, while baer is half out of it.

Round 2: dempsey comes out and immediately floores baer with a left hook! baer is slow in getting up and he goes down 11 more times! baer ries to hold on, but dempsey pushes his off and land head and body shots to baer. dempsey leaps two feet in the air to throw a left hook that catches max flush and he goes down. he doesn't get up! dempsey wins and the crowd goes wild. but max just lies there. he has to be taken to the hospital to be examined. baer is momentarily by doctors pronounced dead, but he somehow is revived.

buffer: "the winner, by ko at 2:56 of the second round, Jaaaack deeeempseeeeyyy!!"

dempsey is happy in victory, but is sorry for putting max in that condition. the next time they fight will be in California.

what a fight, now the series is tied up! after 28 knockdowns, dempsey wins! can't wait for fight #3. lets send our cameras over to Detroit, MI.

              vs.

butterfly1964 here, at the Olympia Stadium in Detroit, MI to bring you fight #2 between Joe Louis and Ezzard Charles.Louis pretty much dominated the first fight, but how will it go down tonight? few words were said at the press conference, but i'm sure this fight will be interesting. here's the tale of the tape.

              Joe Louis

              age: 28
              height: 6'-2"
              weight: 203
              reach: 76"
              record: 56-1-0 (50ko)

              Ezzard Charles

              age: 29
              height: 6'
              weight: 187
              reach: 73"
              record: 61-5-1 (35ko)

It seems that louis lost some extra weight to gain speed, and charles gained some extra weight to gain power. well, charles is in the ring, wearing a dark green robe. louis is in the ring wearing a light gray robe. 65,000 fans cheer as louis climbs into the ring. here is michael buffer.

michael buffer:"Ladies and gentlemen, lllllllllllets get ready to rumblllllllleeee!!! In the blue corner, wearing dark green trunks with white trim, form Cincinnati, OH, he stands 6-feet, he weighs 187, the cincinnatti cobra, ezzaaaarrrd chaaaarless!! and in the red corner, from Detroit, MI, wearing silver trunks with black trim, standing six feet two inches, he weighs two ooohh three, the brown bomber, joooooee loooouuuiiisss!(loud applause from the entire stadium).

both men listen intently to instructions. no staredown in this fight. louis is a 6 to 1 favorite this time around.

Round 1: Charles is on his toes once again, trying to outbox louis, and louis cuts off the ring. they clinch frequently and charles gets in a few shots, while louis uses his two-fisted attack well. charles boxes pretty well, using his jab and stright right effectively, while louis parries some shots and conters with his overhand right. both men did well in this round: both men ar ein good shape and are up off their stool at the warning bell.

Round 2: Louis is jabbing and attempting to wear down charles with body shots, and charles does some fighting on the inside but louis ties him up and gets in some blows of his own. louis is cutting off the ring well, and is getting favor from the judges in this round: charles is listening intently to his trainer, ray arcel and louis is poised and ready for action.

Round 3: Louis is on the offensive and gets charles on the ropes and throws some hard, fast punches that drop charles. charles is slow in getting up, and louis advances to pound the body and throw electrifying uppercuts to the bottom of ezzard's jaw. suprisingly, charles lasts the round: charles is a bit tired and blackburn gives a few pointers to joe.

Round 4: Louis is again pressuring, landing his hard jab often, using his great defense to avoid ezzard's shots. louis get charles on the ropes and they both trade punches. charles lands a sneaky right hand that drops louis! the crowd is on their feet as louis get up at the count of three. louis is now trying to survive, and he does as the round ends: louis needs some rest, but charles looks prety good.

Round 5: Louis now is more cautious. charles is landing his jab, and louis is following him around the ring. charles is confident and walks into a right hand form louis and down he goes. charles gets up at 7 and tries to survive. louis hurts him some more with a few uppercuts, but charles survives: charles needs some reviving and his eyes are puffy. louis' eyes are puffy as well, but he lookwell rested and conditioned.

Round 6: Louis now is landing his combos with efficiency, and charles has nowhere to hide. louis measures and throws a fast flurry of hooks that drops ezzard ala jersey joe walcott! ezzard doesn't beat the count. It's over!

michael buffer: "The winner by ko at 1:00 of the sixth round, The brown bomber, Jooooooe Loooooouiiisss!"

The crowd is happy. I'm happy that we all witnessed a great fight between two great champions. Fight #3 will take place in Cincinatti. let's send the cameras over to Boston Garden for our last fight for the night.

                  vs.

butterfly1964 here, and welcome to boston garden in Boston, MA, where rocky marciano will attempt to go 2-0 on evander holyfield, who was stopped in the 13th round two days ago. can he bounce back and win. we are about to find out. marciano weighed once again 185, and holyfield weighed 213 1/2 today. holyfield looks bigger than the last fight, and many people speculate that he is on steroids for this fight. so holyfield was gives a drug test and the results were negative, but people still think that he used roids to juice himself up. 60,000 people came to see marciano and we are all waiting to see what will come about. here's the tale of the tape.

                  Rocky Marciano

                  age: 30
                  height: 5'-11"
                  weight: 185
                  reach: 67"
                  record: 45-0-0 (40ko)

                  Evander Holyfield

                  age: 28
                  height: 6'-2"
                  weight: 213 1/2
                  reach: 77"
                  record: 25-0-0 (21ko)

At the press conference, holy is interviewed about the speculation.

holyfield: "I passed the drug test, and no illegal substances were found in my body, so I am innocent. i just trained harder, that's all."

And now evander is making his way through the ring wearing a tan robe with "THE REAL DEAL" stitched on the back. the crowd boos because of the steroid controversy. Now marciano comes in the ring greeted with loud applause. rocky's a 5 to 1 favorite.

buffer: "welcome to boooston gardeeeenn, for the eastern matchup. Lllllllllets get ready to ruumbllllllleee! in the blue corner, from Atlanta, GA, he's wearing tan trunks with white trim, he stands 6'-2, he weighs two thirteen and a half pounds, The Real Deal, Evaaandeeer Hooolyfiieeld! (a few boos could be heard) and in the red corner, from Brockton, Massachusetts, wearing white trunks with black trim, he stands 5'-11", he weighs one eighty-five, the Brockton Blockbuster, Rooockyyyy Maarciaaaanooooooo! 15 rounds!"

conn: "protect yourself at all times. break when i tell you to brek. the 3 knockdown rule is in effect, so is the standing eight count. go to the neutral corner upon scoring a knockdown until i tell you to came out. A fighter will be saved by the bell if knocked down. any questions? ok, touch gloves, and good luck!"

                  Both fighters are determined.

Round 1: Both fighters come out and marciano dipps down low in his famous croutch. evander is missing his face cause marciano's head is too low. marciano throws a few wild punches, but holyfield dances away from him. holyfield is using the ring well, countering and making rocky miss: both men are fresh and ready for action.

Round 2: Both men come out trading, and evander is getting the best of it. rocky pounds the body during clinches and goes for the arms and neck as well. holyfield trys to stay out of a clinch, cause he knows rocky will go for anything. marciano is pressing the fight and is cutting off the ring pretty well, but holyfield is landing his jab and one-two's with pin-point accuracy: holyfield listens to sheilds with great attention, and goldman is giving a few pointers to rocky.

Round 3: holyfield is boxing well, landing his jab and making rocky miss. rocky looks sloppy and wild now. holyfield is sticking to his game plan and staying away. marciano is still pressing, but holyfield is a tad-bit faster. holyfield get consideration from the judges on this one: Sheilds is telling holy to keep doing what he's doing, and goldman is telling rocky to pick his shots carefully.

Round 4: holyfield and rocky get into frequent clinches, and holyfield now uses his new found strength to pound rocky's body, outmuscle marciano, and to hurt his with some head combos. rocky tries to make a fight of it, but can't. holy is doing everything right. this is a great round for evander: goldman is telling marciano to concentrate on the body and to croutch lower to make evander miss. sheilds says to keep applying the pressure on the inside and tie marciano up when he can.

Round 5: marciano croutches lower, which gives holyfield problems in landing his jab cleanly. holy applies presure on the inside and gets marciano on the ropes and pounds him. marciano fights back, but holy uses his strength to tie him up. marciano throws his suzie q a few times, but misses by a mile. evander is now up on his toes and is landing his jab about half the time, puffing up marciano's face. marciano is pressuring holy, but holy boxes sharply: holyfield looks pretty good in terms of stamina, and marciano looks as fresh as ever.

Round 6: Marciano is still pressing the fight, this time landing some right hands to the jaw and hurting holyfield. holy shakes them off and continues to move. holy gets a bit tired now of running and marciano begins to close the gap. holy is cornered and uses his strength to push him off, but marciano is relentless in attacking. holyfield plays keep away, and the round is about even: marciano still looks good, except for that eye, and holy is tired. it seems that the added weight took a tool on his stamina.

Round 7: holyfiled is now in a bind with marciano pressuring him to the ropes. marciano lands his suzie q with effectiveness now as holyfield's stamina makes him a bit slower. marciano is strong in the clinches as holyfield no longer is able to outmuscle marciano. marciano can find evander easily now as the round ends: marciano's eye is swollen, and evander';s eye is a little puffed up as well.

Round 8: marciano goes low and unleashes an uppercut that worries evander. holy pounds the body, but at each exchange marciano gets the better of the two. marciano is presuring and presuring. holy is trying to fight back, but to no avail. holy contunues to fight off the back foot, stopping occasionally to throw some hard combination to try to keep his opponent a bit off-balance, but marciano is stronger in the fight now and alot more confident. this is definetely marciano's round: goldman tells marciano to keep applying the pressure and to use the jab. sheilds is telling evander to try and counter marciano's shots and to tie him up whenever he could.

Round 9: This fight is fought mainly in the clinches. marciano and holyfield are both throwing blistering shots that stun each other. holyfield seems to be bouncing back. holy lands some shots that keeps marciano away, but in fighting is the name of this round and holyfield is dominant in that phase: holy is looking better and marciano's eye is now cut.

Round 10: marciano goes into his croutch, and holy tries to land his jab on the bobbing and weaving target, but with little success. holy is cornered and marciano carries the attack. marciano is looking much better than in the last round landing hard rights to the jaw and chest. holyfield is a little arm weary and marciano knows it. he pounds the real deal's body with some hard lefts and rights. holyfield fights back, but this is rocky's round for sure: marciano looks pretty good still, while holyfield is fatigued.

Round 11: holyfield is looking better with some of his jabs landing. marciano is pressuring holy and landing his suzie q and holy is stronger in the clinches and is able at times to outmuscle the brockton native. marciano is looking sloopy now missing most of his blows, ad holy is confident and poised as the bell ending round 11 rings: marciano is a little fatigued, but not that much. holyfield needs plenty of rest.

Round 12: marciano comes out now like a man on a mission and is all over evander with some crisp body shots and head shots. holyfield boxes well, but rocky is landing the harder blows. holyfield's arms are now real tired from rocky hitting them all the time. marciano is looking much better, picking his shots carefully and crouthing low: marciano's eye is being worked on, and holy is listening to instructins from Shields to keep away and counter the suzie q with a left lead.

Round 13: this is the same round that marciano ended the fight last time. marciano comes out and picks his shots well, and evander counters with left leads to the suzie q right hand shot. holy is fighting well, but marciano is landing harder blows and is doing it often. marciano croutches low to make holy miss and marciano follows it up with left and rights to the body and head: marciano looks pretty good, better than evender in terms of stamina. rocky's eye is a little worse, but goldman manages to keep it under control.

Round 14: marciano goes for the ko, cause he thinks he might be behind on points. marciano swings his hardest shots, and holy is worried. it's an all out battle now as holyfield and marciano are now trading. holy's chin survives the exchange and marciano is now pressuring the fight. holy is jabbing, but marciano uses his great leverage to punish evander. evander fights back, but to no avail: marciano is pretty tired, but ready for action. evander looks done for the night, but he will decide to keep going for three more minutes.

Round 15: Both men come out and evander throws hard fast combos that stop marciano in his tracks. holyfield is landing his jab effectively , cause he waits for rocky's head to come higher and then throw it. evander uses the ring well. evander works on that eye, which is cut again. marciano pressures landig some terrific head blows and some hooks to the boddy. marciano jjabs a bit and lands his suzie q on holyfields temple and holy is stunned, but quickly shakes it off, and is now on his toes, circling marciano. holy is moving well, and although he is dead tired, he has great heart, and is toughening it out. marciano is now being outclassed and cannot find evander as easily as before. holyfield uses his strength to outmuscle rocky in the clinches. they both are tired, and holyfield throws a flurry as the bell ending the fight rings!

                    Marciano vs. Holyfield

There have been no knockdowns. marciano had a cut on his right eye, and holyfield was puffed up in the right as well. if there is a draw, then the fighters will have to go into overtime, which means that each fighter will have to fight another round to determine the winner. here is michael buffer!

buffer: "Judge Artie Aidala scores it 8-6-1 for holyfield! judge Tony Castellano scores it 8-7 for holyfield! (boos could be heard) Referee Mark Conn scores it 10-5 holyfield, winner by unanimous decision, Evandeeeeeeer Hooolyfieeeeeld!!"

holyfield: "I'm glad i evened it up. and when i get back home, i hope i could keep the momentum going."

marciano: "it was a tough fight. i'll try harder next time."

the crowd is not pleased. well, holyfield even's the score, so this is butterfly1964 saying good bye from Boston Garden. once again, the final scores are, Part1-ali tko9, Part2-dempsey ko2, Part3-louis ko6, and Part4-holyfield ud15. This has been a presentation of butterfly1964 productions. if you want to comment on this thread, feel free to do so. If you have not registered already, just go to www.boxingscene.com/forums.
