Welcome folks, and good afternoon on behalf of Butterfly1964 Productions. Jack Dempsey will try to survive elimination tonight as Muhammad Ali will try to move on to the finals. Dempsey was 188, and Ali was 206. Here is an interview of Muhammad before the fight.

Reporter: Well Muhammad, what will you do tonight?

Ali: The same thing as always. I should be able to win.

Reporter: What kind of shape are you in?

Ali: Oh, great! I'm lean and trim at about 205 or 206, maybe. Right now I'm just concentrating on either Slow Louis, or that big, ugly bear, Sonny Liston!

Here's the tale of the tape.

      Jack Dempsey

      age: 28
      height: 6'-1"
      weight: 188
      reach: 77"
      record: 61-4-9 (49ko)

      Muhammad Ali

      age: 25
      height: 6'-3"
      weight: 206
      reach: 83"
      record: 29-0-0 (23ko)

Ali is now bouncing down the aisle into the ring, wearing a red robe with white lettering on the back. He is staying warm in there, shadowboxing and moving. Now Jack Dempsey is seen attired with a black robe and many people cheer his arrival. Both men look determined.

Michael Buffer: Introducing, from Houston, TX, he's wearing red trunks with white strips, he stands six feet three inches, he weighs two hundred six pounds, Muhaaamaaad Alliiii! And his opponent, from Manassah, CO, he's wearing black trunks, he stands six feet one, weighing one hundred eighty-eight pounds, Jaaaaaack Deeempseeeey!!!!!!!!!(the crowd cheers) 15 rounds! Llllllets get ready to ruumbllllllllllle!!!!!!!

Mark Conn: You both know the rules of the Colorado State Athletic boxing Commision. Protect yourself at all times. Beak when I tell you to break. Any questions? Shake hands.

Round 1: Ali moves out and uses his reach to keep dempsey at bay. Dempsey ducks under a punch and shoots a left hook tot he jaw. ali follows it up with a one two and two jabs. Ali pulls from a right cross from dempsey and dempsey moves back and moves in, throwing a left hook and missing. Ali uses the ringg well. He is moving at great speed to not let dempsey get a good crack at him.

Round 2: Ali still is on his toes and is using the right hand more to keep him off-balance, as well as his left jab. Dempsey shoots a uppercut that grazes ali's jaw and ali counters witha right. ali shots consecutive one-two and dempsey is more cautious. he bobbs in and out and ali uses his jab more. They both clinch and ali ties him up. They continue, and dempsey is throwing a fearsome combo, that ali avoids most of. Ali dances for the rest of the round without throwing a punch.

Round 3: Dempsey is going after ali, and ali picks him apart. ali is now flatfooted, and dempsey shoots a hard right to ali's midsection, and ali gets in a goodright hand. ali has his hands up to block shots and dempsey gets inside, but ali quickly moves away. ali does a shuffle and hits left and right hooks to the body and a one two to the head. They clinch a couple of times, and ali ties him up.

Round 4: Ali is on his toes again, and pops that jab. He uses the right hand well, and his own left hook. dempsey scores with a left hook, and ali just dances and lands his jab and right cross. dempsey's face is a little puffed up from all that punishment. ali dominates this round, fighting off the backfoot and landing sharp, crisp combinations.

Round 5: In this round Ali is still on his toes somewhat, but he goes more flatfooted and he puts some more pop on his punches. His jab goes in well, so does his right cross, and even some left hooks of his own! All this time, dempsey is looking to get in big left hooks, but it's Ali who lands tremendous left hooks. Dempsey somehow through all that bobbing and weaving gets ali on the ropes and punishes the body and head, but after dempsey gets in about 5 seconds of constant punching, ali holds behind his head and ties him up. Ali sticks to his game plan of moving to the left and occasionally to th right, shuffling his feet from side to side landing his left that keeps dempsey off-balance, and his left, that jarrs dempsey. This is a good round for ali.

Round 6: Ali keeps on moving and dempsey pursuing. ali shoots a hard right to jack's head and an uppercut and a left hook. dempsey misses with a right and ali counters with a one-two. Ali keeps on landing those combinations and dempsey does not know what to do. dempsey starts to throw dynamite hooks, but ali is calm and avoids them countering wth shots of his own. dempsey is stunned, and ali moves in to finish, but he can't do it.

Round 7: Ali is still on his toes, and his stamina looks better than ever. Dempsey somehow gets inside and lands some good body and head shots. demspey bobs under ali's jabs and gets inside once again. Ali ties him up and they continue. dempsey scores with his left hook and is looking better. ali is still on his toes, sticking out that jab. they both clinch, and ali ties him up again. Ali avoids about five blows and he uses his one-two well. This is a good round for ali.

Round 8: Ali is still moving and he is sticking and sticking. ali then throws a right hand moving in, and dempsey is hurt. dempsey starts bobbing and weaving like crazy and ali times his shots and dempsey is against the ropes. the crowd is on their feet in stunned silence. ali moves in to finish with a one two and an uppercut and an overhand right! The fight is over! Ali is going to the Playoff Boxing Finals!

Michael Buffer: The winner by a ko at 1:45 of the eighth round, Muhammad Aliii!

Ali consoles Dempsey and celebrates in his corner!
