Who could beat 86-89 Tyson?

Yep, never really quite got the comparisons. They're very different fighters in most ways. A fight with Frazier means next to nothing when comparing how a fight might play out against Tyson.

Maybe it's simply that both are shorter guys who attack, thus exactly the same.

The fighter that one should see shades of when looking at mike is Dempsey. The category would be boxer punchers with explosive power at intervals.

Frazier is more a constant presser, with regular pressure applied relentlessly. If Dempsey was the guy to look at for Mike, Marciano, though not as refined, is the guy who Frazier fights like...both guys never stopped coming and while not explosive were constant with the pressure. Joe had that beautiful left hook and Marciano fought very well inside with those dinosaur (T Rex) arms!

holyfield grew into a heavyweight in 87 or so i would say mike is just too strong physically and mentally he would not have been as vunerable
