No cause of death? I guess just old age then.

When a 77 y/o dies they usually don't get too su****ious. That's actually better than average for a guy who had a lot of fights against high level opposition. But I haven't read anything so far about whether Foster had been ailing or died suddenly.

Foster had the patience of a hunter and would use his long jab to set up the KO, usually with a wicked left hook. He was also a terrific finisher, so if he hurt you, forget about it. His fights above 175 were disappointing, but Foster is someone who might of benefited greatly from modern "supplements".

        RIP to a great champion.

Isn't he considered a top 5 all time light heavy, along with Spinks. I usually see Ezzard Charles at #1, who do you guys have?

Moore, Charles, Foster, Spinks, Muhammad/Tunney/Greb, possible arguments for Jones and Hopkins? It's a great division historically.

But SPinks, Moore, Foster, Charles need to be fixtures in anyones top 10.

Anyway, R.I.P to a terrific fighter, hard hitting, skilled and poised. Absolutely love watching his tape.

Someone posted what might have been his last interview in NSB. Of course it got lost in there. In the video Foster had what looked like oxygen tubes in his nose. I'm guessing emphysema contributed to his death.
