  • Lennox's weakness was his complacency, he would literally get bored in the ring fighting opponents and often fought down to the level of competition.

But once an opponent "woke him up" with a big shot (Bruno, Vitali, Briggs Mercer) it brought out the animal in Lennox and he won the ladder part of those fights. When he tasted defeat he sought rematches and always shut the guy out the 2nd time. Lennox was always good.

    Young 1989 Lennox,
    Prime 2000 Lennox
    old 2003 Lennox

All had the potential to beat any heavyweight in history.

    • He probably remains undefeated until he runs into Tyson. How he does against Tyson then relies heavily on when he faces him. Tyson started to decline in 89 as his focus was not 100% on boxing anymore and by 90 the opportunity was there for him to be taken.

If Lewis faces him in 89 or before he gets KO'ed, Tyson was still very good and this still green Lewis without Steward would make mistakes and not know how to deal with Tyson's movement.

If Lewis faces Tyson in 90 in Tokyo he beats him much like Douglas did, though probably sooner as he was a bigger puncher.

Whatever happens Lewis would come back and likely pick up a title again in the 90's as Tyson is imprisoned and Lewis was too talented and too good even without Steward to not win a title at some point.

      • I think he was lucky he didn't fight in the 80's, definitely would have had less glorious career.

        • Holyfield had a 2nd prime, one that occurred after 1995 achieved by chemical means.

From 1996-1999 Evan Fields looked better than superman. Let's keep it 100!

same to be said of Lennox Lewis and his "Chemical means 2nd prime" which occured 1999-2003 Lewis abused anabolic steroids throughout his career gaining over 35lbs just like Holyfield but worse... The reason Lewis chose to fight out of the UK instead of his beloved Canada or USA was because the UK do not drug test their own boxers.

            • It is not out of the ordinary for a 6'5 guy to add 20 lbs to his already tall frame.

What's odd, and supernatural is how Evander Went from losing to michael moorer gettin hit by slow ass George to knocking out Tyson n walking thru lennox's best power shots. Evan is a steroid cheat if their ever was one

When lennox gained weight he looked fleshy compared to holyfield. He may however become stronger though.

Lewis started juicing right after the McCall Knockout. it is very well documented on the web about Lewis juicing, Jeremy Williams made reference to it in a documentary. Lewis body from 97-2003 looks similar to Shannon Briggs who is a Steroid freak...

Your reference to Lewis being 6'5'' is all the more proof he was juicing. When we look at athletes like Usain Bolt who is 6'5'' and weighs 205lbs
                  Ernie Terrell 6'7'' ~~ 210lbs
                  Tony Tucker 6'5'' ~~ 228lbs
                  Lou Savarese 6'5'' ~~ 220lbs
                  Buster Douglas 6'5'' ~~ 231lbs
                  Tryell Biggs 6'5'' ~~ 228lbs
                  Jose Ribalta 6'5'' ~~ 210lbs
                  Mitch Green 6'5'' ~~ 225lbs
                  Maurice Harris 6'4'' ~~205lbs
                  Rid**** Bowe 6'6'' ~~ 235lbs
                  Gerry Cooney 6'7'' ~~ 231lbs
                  Buddy Baer 6'6'' ~~ 215lbs
                  Carmine Vingo 6'4'' ~~ 195lbs
                  Tyson Fury 6'9'' ~~ 248lbs

LENNOX LEWIS 6'5'' ~ 257lbs (full of juice)

Lennox was already bigger than most the guys you mentioned in his debut! over 230 lbs for his first match.

Lennox was 238 when he lost to mccall and came in 13 lbs heavier in the rematch. Maidana gains more lbs in one day than Lennox did over the 3 years you claim he was roiding up.
