Actually this was going to have a scripted outcome but Ali's religion does not believe in deception so Ali changed his mind and it became a real fight. This fight was shown on closed circuit. Imagine paying money for this crap.

Look how hard Inoki was kicking Ali's legs. He did that for all 15 rounds in between lying on his back and Ali's legs took a terrible beating. You can even see Ali limping early in the fight. Ali suffered blood clots in both his legs and at one point doctors feared amputation. That's how serious those kicks were. The punishment Ali took threatened the 3rd Ali-Norton fight happening.

I'd go so far as to say the punishment Ali took to his legs in that affair affected his gameplan and the way he fought against Norton in the Rubber Match.

                • I just read this entire thread (don't laugh).

Two points I like to make:

First, in the Ali-Cleveland fight Yogi uploaded, they say that Ali weighed 212 pounds, and that was his best weight. I don't know what all the fuss you guys were talking about earlier about Ali's weight.

Second, I'm serious about this question (no joke), but why do African-Americans get angry about watermelons? What is the symbolism?

                  • Now that I look at it, Ali realistically lost a ****load of fights in his career. Banks KO'd him, Jones was robbed of a decision, Cooper knocked him out with one punch, and Dundee cheated to save Ali. Liston took a dive when he was in much better shape than the first fight. An in shape Liston pummels Ali senseless. Chuvalo was beating Ali on the ropes constantly, and was robbed. Zora Folley was ahead on the cards before the bull**** fast count. Wepner knocked Ali out. Patterson was threatened by Ali's posse. Lyle was dominating Ali. The second Frazier fight, Ali should have been docked several points for excessive clinching, and Frazier would have won. In the third, Ali was going to quit, but Futch called it off too soon. Norton was robbed TWICE. He completely dominated Ali all 3 times. Lubbers and Shavers were robbed, and Spinks was screwed over the second time.

So all in all, Ali lost these fights:

Banks, Cooper I, Jones, Liston II, Chuvalo, Folley, Frazier I, Norton I, Norton II, Patterson II, Frazier II, Wepner, Lyle, Frazier III, Shavers, Lubbers, Spinks I, Spinks II, Holmes, Berbick

So Ali really had simply a journeymen's record of 41-20.
