  • The scoring of the Lewis vs Holyfield fights..

Were atrocious as most boxing fans still believe. In the first fight I had Holyfield winning 2 round with 1 or two rounds possibly being even. We all know the terrible scoring there. Second fight I had Holyfield winning 3 rounds with 1 even, yet some people believe Holyfield won this fight which is crazy to me but it has to be influenced by the terrible judges again. It was not that one sided.

It was a shame it went that way since this was a historical matchup. Your thoughts?

Lewis kicked ass twice. How would a prime Holyfield have done though, say, from 1990? Probably at least a closer fight. This was when boxing was still big and being talked about a lot by the public. I remember Dennis Miller on his HBO talk show saying that that one female judge was so in Don King's pocket that you could hear King's keys hit the ground when he pulled her out of it haha.

I thought Lewis clearly won both. Particularly the first fight which had some of the worst scorecards I've ever seen. Especially from Eugenia Williams who was obviously bought off.

Lewis clearly got robbed in the first fight. I don't think anybody could argue that. I had the rematch a draw and wouldn't understand anyone that thought either fighter won.

Don't think the second one was a draw at all. Had 1 round even in the second fight with Lewis winning 7 and Holyfield 4.

            Deserved victory for Lewis.

              First fight clearly Lewis.

Second fight had Holyfield edging it.

There were a lot of rounds where Lewis was landing a lot of jabs and straight punches while Holyfield was landing some good shots from time to time when he pressed the action. So there was an activity discrepancy of more punches vs fewer, better punches. Holyfield also landed a lot of body shots while the ref said break which is also strange to score. But Lewis had control over most of the fight, it's too bad that he would play around at times or drop his activity. Second fight btw.

Would love to see more scorecards from people who thought Holyfield won. I had Lewis winning rounds 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11. Evander rounds 5, 6, 12 and the first round even.

Just by reading the comments here, it's obvious that there are differing opinions on both fights and who won what. I was ringside for both those bouts and had Lewis winning by 9-3 in the first and 7-4-1 in the second.

It is highly subject and neither man took the initiative, although Lewis tried to. Holyfield wasn't at his best and Lewis didn't want to have his chin tested so went into defense mode. It was quite an anti-climactic fight, considering it was for THE heavyweight championship but sometimes these things happen.

I spoke to Holyfield after the first fight and he told me he believed he won but even he didn't seem convinced.

First fight was clearly a lewis win,,,,

the 2nd fight was much closer but i had lewis edging it, but i can see a draw,,,

Havent watched them since they happened so i cant give a clear round by round scoring,, i just remember that i thought lewis clearly won 116-112 in the 1st fight, and the rematch was 115-113, 114-114,

Not very exciting fights, I was so hyped to finally see them but the fights themselves were very disappointing
