How about Hopkins vs. Trinidad, not so much because it was a title fight for the vacant Ring middleweight title, but because it was in NYC right after
    9-11?

........."if Ezzard Charles"..............Charles is one of the greatest fighters of all time! Thats what makes Rocky come back KO over him so great! Not that Charles was inflicting damage on him, Charles inflicts damage on everyone!!

Also Tyson is NOT bigger than Marciano, he had more weight as he got older and the added weight helped him decline. Marciano was 5'11 1/2" fought most of his fights at 191lbs (not his offical weighin weight) Tyson was 5'9 1/2 and at his best was 205 to 215lbs!
Mike could certainly do damage because of his speed and angle work and Rocky was very calculating at the beginning of fights once he was champ. Knowing you have 15 rounds to work with brings a different mind set. Mike has his chances early as he would with ANY man! As the fight progresses his chances twindle in my opinion. Rock gets stronger and the work rate goes up and he's the finisher with tremendous body hooks and chopping right hands!
Tell ya what, the winner gets Dempsey and I want to see both fights, inperson!!! Ray

tyson was DEFINTLY the bigger man. His prime was more like 215-220, thats a 20-30 pound difference! 30 pounds of leeean muscle. I dont know why people even bother debating it, rockys getting blown away in the 1st or 2nd round. And tyson is taller than 5,9 its just the way he stands, maybe 5,11 was a mistake but its more like 5,10 to 5,10 and a half

If Tysons unofficail weight was only 205-215 than I gotta believe Rock's was only 179-189. I love the Rock but since Rocky only ever weighed (officially) over 190 twice And from film I think he was clearly the smaller man. Im not trying to argue who would win butn I do trhink Tyson was naturally bigger.

It was an old/post prime version of Ezzard Charles, Ray. Who'd lost 3 of his 5 previous fights fighting in a division above his best at around 190Lbs. Theres no two ways about it, 218Lbs of prime Mike Tyson would be a much bigger threat at that point.

As for Tyson vs Marciano; granted there wasn't much in it in terms of size. Tyson's official height varies between 5'10 and 5'11.5. But Marciano's official weigh in weight was usually circa 187Lbs to prime Tyson's 218Lbs (he never came in under 216Lbs in world class). Plus vital statistics/measurements show that Tyson was in a skeletal/muscular sense rather broader than the Rock......

Not that it matters, because its a great fight on paper and your fight assessment seems to be very much in line with my earlier post.
