Balboa? Yes, wins over Creed, Lang, and Drago are very impressive.

Marciano fought a lot of stiffs and light heavyweights. His resume is among the weaker ones at heavyweight.

"Resume" means who you've beaten, not winning percentage.

Resume actually means the stats, and not the persons who you beat, but if you meant it that way, i'll agree Rocky has had very weak competition. Ali, then. Best Resume? Definitely Ali.

Even if you go by stats.

Ali beat more Top 10 ranked contenders, beat more Top 10 ATG HW's (3), made more defences of the undisputed title, fought on at a higher level for a much longer period of time giving him longevity as well.

Yes, but I meant going purely by stats. You'll never hear me saying The Rock was better than Ali.

I did go purely by numbers in my response. Unless you're referring to different stats?

I thought Joe Louis had more title defenses. And there was only one belt then, so wouldn't that be undisputed? Anyway, so the best resume would be between these guys from what I'm reading here:

                Ali
                Ezzard Charles
                Robinson

With maybe Sam Langford and Harry Greb also being involved in the discussion. Am I in the ballpark here guys?

Looks like a solid list for a discussion to me. No objective standard, no real way to come up with one, with that said though you can certainly put people in the discussion so to speak.

Okay then. Love the Paul Williams pic. He was one of my favorites in recent years.

Barn, I meant the purest and most simplest of stats.

                      Ali's 56-5 to Rocky's 49-0.
