Crazy trolls said jack could beat a man he never would land on bowe and others he would be destroyed by holy its obvious all the people who said jack were trolled dude was trash compared
You couldn'tbe more correct Johnson, Bowe, or Holyfield havn't got a chance going against a skilled fighter like Joe Louis. Couldn't agree more.
Johnson easy. Far more advanced technique, highter boxing IQ, and Holyfield and his modern conditioning and diet would gas and crumble after the 15th or 16th. Easy fight for Pappa Jack.
Johnson was strong in a clinch? Not compared to Holyfield. Holyfields build was not just for show. He would throw Johnson around like a rag doll. How ever and when ever he chose to do so. Absolute mismatch here. From the inside to the outside, Johnson is simply over matched in this one...Rockin'
Did you know?.....That while touring Europe Johnson wrestled against some of the continent's top shoot grapplers and was pretty competitive, even beating a few of them? Holyfield would get owned inside and outside. Look where this thread began. 2007. Boxing has evolved since then too, right? 15 years worth, right? Comparing old timers like Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis to Deontay Wilder? Crazy, right?
Interesting fight... Rules, gloves... even rounds figure in. ironickly the bstard Maker at his finest has good stamina for a modern fighter. Johnson presents as a boxer like Toney did. Of course Holly was three sheets to the wind by the time he fought Toney. Problem for Holly is Johnson could counter punch and control inside...Potential Problem for Johnson is Holly is well rounded and could even become the "puncher" in this fight. Holly is exactly the kind of modern fighter I like against all commers, Liston is another one.
I don't know who wins as none of us do, but I will say this: it hinges on whether Johnson is good enough to be a James Toney of sorts, or, conversely If Holly is good enough to box and catch Johnson good with a combo... Furthermore Johnson is tough because he is fighting off the back leg... Can Holly get through? Well, Holly might have stamina as good as Johnson, so maybe so. At any rate Holly has to catch Jack before the grapple and be able to follow through. jack meanwhile can pick at Holly and control him in the clinch... Holly does not have the defense that Johnson had either, so Holly has to take that punch (he can) and be able to get past Johnson's parry.
I agree, He could do everything Holyfield or ali could do, and do them better, also could do much that they didn't know about. \He was a master tactician and stretegist, as well as a very stong guy and puncher.
He had umpteen fights and not a mark on him
Let's put it this way. Johnson never beat a prime heavy of the class of Holy, and additionally, Johnson never beat the quality of comp that Holy beat. Stylistically it's a boring fight, most Johnson fights were, but Holy is bigger, stronger, and bulls Johnson around the ring, winging shots that he never had to face. Holy by 10th round KO.
Nobody ever could "bull Johnson around the ring" He was phenomenally strong. And Holy would never get to him if he didn't want him to, just to make an interesting fight. I say Johnson.
Jack Johnson lost to the most talentless heavyweight champ ever. Leon Spinks may look bad on paper, but trust me, jess willard is by far the worst champ in the history of the sport. The fact that this joke is in the hall of fame, just makes the entire rep of the HOF a joke too.
