Rocky Marciano had a very unique style. He didn't have much of a jab and he always fought out of a crouch. He trained to no end. He was fierce and determined which overcame all of his rivals skills. In that respect he didn't really need any more than he had.

I don't know if Ricardo Mayorga is considered an ATG by anybody but he didn't have much skill. Gatti had a lousy defense and I'm sure some regard him as one...

Difficult question in more than one way. Jeffries, Marciano and Foreman would be my picks if I had to.

That would be the case for everyone who was lacking in skill but managed to become an ATG none the less

I don't think anyone regards either as an ATG, nor should they.

Also conditioning played a major factor for Rocky. He was very dedicated in his training, as those who worked with him and knew him would often say.

I can think of some pretty good fighters who made it far with many flaws but I can't seem to think of any ATg maybe jake lamotta fits in this?

Khaosai Galaxy is my pick. Very intense fighter and is an ATG in my book, but not much textbook skill in my opinion.

that's a good one. not sure if he makes the my top 100, but again, i have not hashed out a top 100. guys that small are hard to rank, unless they've got hall of famers on their resumes and such.

he had a ton of natural ability

he was a HUGE hitter, and a southpaw.

when you're talking about fighters with these sorts of accomplishments you're obviously going to be talking about guys with skills on some level.

The only people who think Gatti is an ATG are people whose only boxing experience is limited to watching the Gatti-Ward fights and/or seeing The Fighter.

As for Mayorga... he's not even HOF material.
