Least Skilled ATG?

Well, if you actually read what I wrote I didn't label either one an ATG. I was just wondering being that they were popular some years ago that some may think they were...

I get the hunch even if he went further and beat the Patterson's/Liston's that'd still be the case.
Patterson a distant but comfortable second.

What do you base this on? Liston would be, by far and away, the best win on his resume.

Here we go again! Its just a feeling I get. Even if he went on a few more years and he did defeat a Patterson and a Liston I'm sure they'd be downplayed. Again, it's just a hunch. Why? Because his skills were underrated and only appear to be crude. But, if you watch him closely as in the film above you could see they are not. It was very wise for him to fight out of a crouch as he realized he'd have the most success that way. The man was short so as far as his height/reach he had limitations a la Tyson and Frazier.Last edited by Mintcar923; 08-14-2012, 11:51 PM.

He has a decent resume, poor longevity and terrific although short dominance of an average heavyweight era.
Ali has a great resume, terrific dominance, amazing longevity.
Louis has a decent resume, GOAT dominance and longevity.
I don't see how it needs to be made any more complicated than that.
If I'm honest if people do under-rate Marciano it's because they are fed up of people like yourself who rank him the best heavyweight who ever lived.
