I think he had all the tools too be a lot greater than he was, lost some questionable decisions and wasnt managed in the best way imo.I was trying too think outside the box with that pick, maybe not the definitive biggest waste of potential ever but i certainly feel he was a huge underachiever
Several long gaps of inactivity were Ike's biggest problem, IMO.
But the plot, your only allowed to choose ONE name.
Don't name more than one name in your post.
I once read about a Philadelphia fighter named Tyrone Everett who was murdered. From what I read he was the real deal and his only loss was a very bogus decision. Robbed against Alfredo Escalera in his one and only shot. I wasn't around when he fought so I can't vouch for this.
I'm not going to claim he was the biggest waste, but George Foreman definitely could have done better.
He responded very badly to the loss against Ali, and as he proved in the comeback he wasn't finished yet, imagine what he would have been like if he hadn't had his 10 year layoff?
Really, I just don't see Ron Lyle or Jimmy Young having any success with the Foreman of Rumble in the Jungle.
