Charles is in the very upper-elite category. His CV is ridiculously formidable.

I'd say its undoubtedly Harry Greb. 18 champions 9 hall of famers, including wins over: Gene Tunney, Tommy Loughran, Tommy Gibbons, Mickey Walker, it has to be Greb for me. These are men who are going to be ranked p4p very highly, not just quantity but quality too.

We discussed about Rosnebloom's lengthy resume in another thread if you can recall

I'm just saying that Ezzard Charles has one of the storngest resumes I've ever seen. Not the strongest but it's certainly up there.
I agree with you...Charles has a great resume no two ways about it..one of the true P4P greats.

To be honest, I think it's debatable whether you can be ATG without a loss. If you've never been beaten you've never been truly tested. The mark of a true great is the ability to overcome the worst adversity imaginable (for a fighter that's a defeat) and triumph.

Agreed. Show me a fighter who finished their career undefeated and you've shown me a fighter who fought very weak opposition.

Can you list them please, because I'm almost certain Harry Greb only defeated 13 Hall of Famers. I've done the research years ago, but I'd like to see your findings.

That's 13, but correct me if I'm wrong.

On reflection, you are correct. My mistake.

If Greb has a better resume than Robinson why is Ray considered by most people as the number 1 p4p of all time?
