Tua was fun to watch, few decent wins. I give him maybe a punchers chance against a few greats ( marciano, frazier, tyson, ) but the rest would out box him.

I think if you train like another person and are the same size, then you are the same size. You and some others think Tua would win because he is bigger. But he just trains his muscles differently then Marciano did. Thats why I thought you thought that Marciano's training methods were why he would not beat Tua. While I think the opposite, I think Marciano could fight at a higher tempo along with being a more skilled fighter.

And btw, I didn't weight doesn't matter at all: I said it doesn't matter as much as you make it out to matter ie. it isn't a decisive advantage. What I said doesn't matter is height, and no one can provide any empirical evidence showing it does; while tons of evidence can be provided showing that reach DOES matter.
If you're going to dismiss what I say you might want to actually READ what I'm saying instead of giving it a superficial glance.

height does matter. also of varying degrees of importance.
i don't understand how a person can say reach matters and height doesn't. i just don't.
you realize an opponents height affects your reach right? it's basic common sense.
stick your arm out at eye level. now stick your arm out a few inches above eye level.
and i did read your post , i just thought you quoted me.

It takes a great fighter to build a great legacy --- the fellas in this thread, by your own admission, were greats. Tua wasn't. I agree that doesn't determine the outcome, but it's a huge factor. Tua is just flat outclassed here.
but i've seen atg's lose or have a hard time with much inferior men before.
that's the whole point of this thread. a mediocre talent with strong intangibles like chin , durability , power , stamina and throw him against the greats.
see how he does.

an opponent's height affects your reach.
size is not just weight. size is everything. height , weight , reach.

I don't agree with most of LHT's picks but he is right about the people responding. If you're sitting there thinking 'he got knocked down by someone who isn't great, therefore he'd lose to anyone who is great/ATG' then you're a fool who not only doesn't understand the sport but who also can't have seen much of it, as there are many examples of boxers getting knocked down by fighters who are nowhere near as good as them.
Not that I'm saying this is or isn't the case with David Tua. But what I am saying is don't throw in some ****** attempt at logic in order to make your answer appear factual, especially when your logic is so moronic and ******.
