The better fighter doesn't always win. Floyd was a small guy in a big man's world. I agree though, he was easily far more skilled than either of those guys.

Patterson was a very good 6'0 185 lb heavyweight, but he was no Louis or Dempsey. He would have lost to every top heavyweight that followed him (we all know who they are). Floyd was almost impossible not to root for, but some of the memories of him are a little too rosey to be realistic.

I think Cus was being kind to Floyd, but there is no way he beats Muhammad.A healthy Patterson at best gives him a close fight, on an Ali off-night.
